This bill prohibits pregnancy centers from advertising that they offer certain pregnancy-related services and from inducing an individual to enter their center.
This bill challenged the speech of pro-life pregnancy centers under the deceptive practices act normally associated with false advertising in the consumer products area.
Bill passed was signed into law and immediately litigated by Thomas More Society. The court imposed an immediate in junction and the judge said the bill is “stupid and likely unconstitutional.” The AG Kwame Raoul subsequently said he would not enforce the law.
