Illinois’ Most Despicable Lawmaker Kelly Cassidy Hits New Low

Last week, the perpetually arrogant, perpetually repulsive, perpetually ignorant State Representative Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago) out-performed even her worst floor performance—a remarkable feat.

In response to State Rep. Travis Weaver (R-Pekin), who spoke about the unfairness of yet another cross-sex impersonating male student robbing girls of their rightful wins in a track competition in Naperville, Illinois, Cassidy spewed—at times shouting—this bile:

It’s a day that ends in why, and, therefore, my colleagues on the other side of the aisle feel the need to share their obsession with children’s genitalia once again the IHSA has revealed that there are three, three students in the state of Illinois who identify as transgender competing in sports—three. Y’all we are grown adults, and we are picking on kids because you are obsessed with children’s genitalia. Who do you propose we hire to police the locker rooms and bathrooms of our schools? How do you propose we pay for locker room police and bathroom police in every school in our state? And how do you propose we address the inevitable trauma from sexually assaulting every child in a bathroom and locker room by inspecting their genitals? Y’all need to get over yourselves. Y’all need a hobby that doesn’t involve obsessing over kids’ genitals.

In 148 words, the perverse Cassidy accused Republicans three times of being obsessed with children’s genitals. And what is a person who is obsessed with children’s genitals? A pedophile. On the State House floor, Cassidy slandered all her Republican colleagues as pedophiles.

Apparently, Cassidy believes she’s clever in trying to redefine concerns about honoring the meaning and importance of biological sex as a “genital obsession.” That’s an odd thing for a lesbian to say.

When Cassidy says she is a lesbian and, as such, opposes sex with men, is she obsessed with genitalia?

When women contact authorities because there’s a man in a women’s restroom, are they obsessed with genitalia?

When high school girls say they don’t want male peers in their locker rooms, are they obsessed with genitalia?

When Riley Gaines and Paula Scanlan objected to Will (“Lia”) Thomas swimming on a girls’ swim team and changing in the girls’ locker room, were they obsessed with genitalia?

When the black woman at the Korean spa in California complained to staff about the man in the women’s spaces, was she obsessed with genitalia?

When women prisoners ask that they not be housed with male prisoners, are they obsessed with genitalia?

If boys in elementary school object to a girl using the boys’ restrooms, are they obsessed with genitalia?

When women specifically choose female gynecologists, are they obsessed with genitalia?

Either biological sex has meaning, or it doesn’t. If it has no meaning whatsoever, if it’s the equivalent of eye color, then maybe Cassidy is right in saying that all concerns about biological sex are evidence of a perverse obsession.

If biological sex has no meaning in any context, then Cassidy’s homosexuality is a sign of her obsession with genitalia.

If biological sex has no meaning in any context, then there should be no sex-segregated bathrooms, locker rooms, prisons, or sports for anyone anywhere.

If, however, biological sex—which is in all cases immutable—has meaning, particularly in contexts where physical embodiment is relevant as in spaces where humans engage in intimate bodily functions, undress, or compete athletically, then concerns are not signs of a genital obsession. They are signs of a healthy, right, good, and essential respect for biological sex.

Cassidy implies that sex-segregated locker rooms and restrooms will require some sort of surveillance agents to inspect genitalia. That’s a creepy notion that only a creepy mind could invent. Has Cassidy not noticed that we have sex-segregated bathrooms and locker rooms everywhere with nary a genital inspector in sight?

Here’s a question for Cassidy: Who will we hire to ascertain whether the males entering female private spaces genuinely identify as females, or are merely temporarily confused, or are predators masquerading as “trans” in order to access their prey?

In a series of dishonest rhetorical moves, Cassidy goes slip-slidin’ down the proverbial greasy slope. She first posits the dubious claim that maintaining sex-segregated private spaces requires genital police. She provides no evidence to prove such a claim. And then with her fallacy firmly gripped by her forked tongue, she hurtles down the slope saying that her unproven premise will result ineluctably in the traumatic sexual assault of children.

Cassidy tried to diminish the revolutionary nature of the project she and her leftist collaborators are pursuing as they try to coerce girls and women to compete against males. She suggests that no one should oppose sex-integrated sports because there are only “three students in the state of Illinois who identify as transgender competing in sports.”

First, if a policy that forces girls to compete against boys is unjust, the number of boys engaged in this injustice is irrelevant.

Second, pay attention to how narrowly Cassidy has circumscribed her claim: according to Cassidy, there are only three “trans” students in Illinois competing in sports. No acknowledgment that the issue of male students competing as females in female sports goes far beyond Illinois.

Third, is her claim even true? Are all Illinois schools tracking and reporting the number of “trans”-identifying student athletes? Can Cassidy provide conclusive proof that there are only three such students participating in athletics?

Fourth, how many female student athletes in Illinois have been affected by policies and practices that have allowed biological males to compete in girls’ sports? How many girls have been beaten by boys, or lost medals to boys, or lost their place in finals to boys, or had to share a locker room with boys? Is it just three girls?

Google’s AI bot Gemini states that since the Illinois High School Association’s policy allowing “trans” students to participate in opposite sex sports “went into effect in 2011, the organization has approved … 56 requests for transgender athletes to compete” but that the total number “is likely higher than reported waivers.”

In her arrogance and ignorance, Cassidy chose to besmirch all Republicans who are rightly motivated to respect and honor biological sex as deviants. She should be censured.

And then Cassidy should spend some time thinking about the deviant genital obsession she and Democrats everywhere have as they seek to undermine respect for the reality and meaning of biological sex.
