Lawless “No-One-Is-Above-the-Law” Biden and his sidekick Myrmidon Mayorkas invited twelve million (unvaccinated) people without identification to violate our immigration laws. Then in myriad ways, their Democrat collaborators have been sabotaging ICE’s efforts to do its job. Americans—legal citizens—are again suffering because of lousy Democrat policies, Democrat refusal to enforce existing laws, and Democrat subversion of efforts by the Trump administration to do the job Democrats won’t do, all of which costs Americans mountains of money piled up to our chins
Nowhere is that being more acutely felt at this moment than in Los Angeles where protestors have set cars ablaze, blocked traffic, looted stores, and targeted LAPD headquarters and law enforcement agents, which fits the very definition of an insurrection, and this insurrection has continued, not for two and a half hours, but, as of this writing, is into its sixth day.
As Los Angeles burns—again–let’s do some demagoguery-busting, beginning with L.A.’s inept DEI hire Mayor Karen Bass who has made several questionable comments in her misbegotten effort to raise the ire of citizens against constitutional principles, laws, and law enforcement agents. She said,
Let me be clear—chasing people through a Home Depot parking lot does not make Los Angeles safer.
While restoring and maintaining safety is a critical responsibility of law enforcement, and one at which Bass badly fails, it is not the only responsibility. Law enforcement’s job is to enforce laws. Chasing illegal immigrants is the job of ICE agents. Just as entering America illegally is a crime, so too is fleeing ICE agents.
Moreover, how does Bass know that capturing people who are fleeing from law enforcement agents will not make Los Angeles safer? There’s a reason people prefer to live next door to people who don’t flee from law enforcement.
Bass shared her paranoia in a press conference:
I posit that maybe we are part of a national experiment to determine how far the federal government can go in reaching in and taking over power from a governor, power from a local jurisdiction, and frankly, leaving our city and our citizens… in fear. … You’re not trying to keep anyone safe, you’re trying to cause fear and panic.
Yikes. Someone get that woman a strait jacket or at least read to her The Law for Dummies.
Someone might reasonably argue that it is the paranoid Bass who is trying to stoke fear and panic with her inflammatory rhetoric.
At a press conference, Bass dug in her insurrectiony heels, saying, “We’re not going to stand for this.” By “this,” she meant ICE’s authority and responsibility to enforce federal immigration laws. She publicly declared open rebellion against federal authority.
I will grant Bass this much: lawbreakers often do experience fear when they realize they’re not above the law and about to be caught.
In Pretty Boy Newsom’s statement on L.A.’s conflagration, he tried futilely to impute nefarious motives to President Trump, implying he was deliberately “traumatizing” the Los Angeles community, “snatch[ing] people off the streets without a warrant, based only on suspicion or skin color,” and employing a “brazen abuse of power.”
Newsom evidently hasn’t received the message from his handlers that the whole Chicken Little “everyone is racist” leitmotif has lost its narrative power, because he accused ICE agents of targeting people based on skin color.
Correction: ICE is targeting border lawbreakers. Most of America’s border lawbreakers are from Mexico or Central America. Their skin color is incidental and irrelevant to ICE agents and Americans.
Newsom also criticized ICE agents for “arresting dishwashers, gardeners, day laborers and seamstresses,” saying Trump is going “well beyond his stated intent to just go after violent and serious criminals.”
Surely, Newsom is not so removed from real life that he doesn’t know dishwashers and day laborers can also be serious criminals.
And surely Newsom knows that as soon as Tom Homan was appointed acting head of ICE, he said that initially ICE would concentrate on “national security threats,” but that as it progresses in its job to remove illegal immigrants, the “aperture” would open and there would “be more arrests nationwide.” Further, there would be more “collateral arrests.” Homan made explicit on Jan. 26, 2025, that “if you’re here illegally, you’re on the table.”
Either Newsom is shockingly ignorant or he baldfaced lied when he said Trump stated he would “just go after violent and serious criminals.” My guess is the latter.
In addition, while Newsom implied ICE had no warrants, USA Today reported that ICE agents did, indeed, have search warrants.
With oily irony dripping from his slickery tongue, Newsom grandiosely proclaimed,
I ask everyone: Take time, reflect on this perilous moment. A president who wants to be bound by no law or constitution, perpetuating a unified assault on American traditions. …
He’s declared a war, a war on culture, on history, on science, on knowledge itself. …
He’s delegitimizing news organizations and he’s assaulting the First Amendment.
This from a man of the party that knowingly perpetuated the costly Russia collusion hoax; that seeks to pack the Supreme Court; that pursues ways to facilitate voter fraud; that targets political enemies with lawfare; that violates the constitutional separation of powers regularly; that wants to get rid of the filibuster; that colluded with social media to bury the Hunter Biden laptop story, stories suggesting a link between China and the COVID virus, and that raised questions about the safety and efficacy of COVID vaccines; that tells children boys can become girls; and that believes the Constitution is a living, infinitely malleable document written in disappearing ink.
Speaking of the Russia collusion hoax, good old Pencilneck Adam Schiff can always be counted on to lie, and lie he has about the riots:
The Trump Administration’s calling on the California National Guard without the authorization of the Governor is unprecedented. This action is designed to inflame tensions, sow chaos, and escalate the situation. If the Guard is needed to restore peace, the Governor will ask for it.
In Pecksniffian Schiff’s perverse world, when lawbreakers carrying Mexican flags and their collaborators illegally and violently resist government efforts to enforce the law and then the federal government uses legal authority to stop the illegal and violent actions, it is the federal government that is the problem.
Newsom would never call in the National Guard because doing so would be a public admission of his incompetence, and nothing—not even the safety of his citizens or the security of their businesses—can be allowed to get in the way of his political aspirations.
U.S. Representative Norma Torres from California said something so shocking from a member of Congress that she deserves to be censured. She posted this on TikTok:
ICE get the f*** out of LA so that order can be restored.
That’s actually not how a civil society operates. A civil society does not allow violent lawbreakers waving flags of the nations to which they hold allegiance to dictate the actions of federal law enforcement agencies. Nor does Norma Torres.
At least one member of Congress has called for Torres’ expulsion, which, in light of this oath which Torres affirmed when she was sworn into office, seems a reasonable request:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
It is Democrats—not President Trump—who seek to undermine foundational American principles and the civic order.
