It’s hard to believe his voice has been silenced…and silenced in a political assassination. We would all be extremely sad had it been a car accident or a health issue that killed Charlie. But his death via an assassin bullet has brought out not just sadness, but anger, and also resolve that the Leftist ideology curated on college campuses, in the media, Hollywood, and on political stages must be defeated.
The Left killed Charlie Kirk. And Conservatives need to stand up to them even more.
Charlie was assassinated for his conservative stances and, more importantly than that, his courage to speak about his beliefs and do so on the Leftist college campuses to the very youth the Left has largely controlled for decades.
Charlie Kirk was a special guy. I met him when he was just starting Turning Point USA. In just a few years, he built a movement that has educated the youth on a myriad of topics and given them a perspective on America’s founding principles that they were not hearing in liberal schools.
The Left was threatened by Charlie’s conservative political beliefs, the very beliefs and rights that our country was founded on. And the right Charlie exercised the most – free speech – which he did so peacefully and articulately, threatened the Left the most because when Charlie made arguments, he had the audacity to mention Jesus. Talking about capitalism is one thing; asserting that personal property rights are also biblical is quite another. And saying that life begins at conception and there are only two sexes, male and female, will get you killed.
Charlie was hopeful because only a hopeful person would self-educate himself to know what he knew to the depth he did, so that he could reason with people. He was very respectful to anybody he engaged with in political debate.
It’s pretty obvious how we got here.
For years, our side and the reasonable middle have refused to respond immediately and effectively to the Left’s rhetoric. We aren’t really into confrontational politics. We have better things to do than come up with the slogan of the week and protest on street corners.
Most people can avoid engaging in political debate, but for those who are on that battlefield, in many cases, they have let the Left get away with their ignorant comments, arrogant attitudes, and dismissive behavior towards conservatives who speak up. As the Left’s angry, and stupid, fact-free vitriol has grown, their followers have felt authorized to protest violently, and now we have the political assassination of Charlie.
Violent comments from Democrats are common in Illinois. People should be reminded that Democrat Stephanie Kifowit wished death on Republican Peter Breen and his family during a policy debate in 2018. She’s part of the problem. Kifowit wants to be the IL Comptroller now. She should have lost her seat a long time ago, and voters should reject her in 2026. Read about the incident HERE. While Kifowit’s remarks about brewing up a batch of Legionnaire’s disease and feeding it to Breen’s family are the worst I have seen in Springfield, being called a Nazi, racist, homophobe, misogynist, or simply being cut short in debate are very, very commonplace in the legislature. Just imagine what they say amongst themselves and to their followers that we don’t hear about.

The attempted assassinations of President Trump, the recent political assassination of the state legislator in Minnesota, and now Charlie stem in part from the heated rhetoric of people in power.
JB Pritzker isn’t a tough guy, so he likes to talk like one instead. He’s not a master at anything, so he covers for that by lying about his record and lying about his political opponents. But, he’s taken it too far. He only knows heated name-calling towards Republicans
Appallingly, when responding to the killing of Charlie, who grew up in Illinois, Pritzker literally stumbled over his words, unable to sincerely say what any decent human being would say: that he was sad and horrified at the targeted killing. Instead, he mumbled a few words of condolence and then blamed Trump and J6ers. Listen HERE.
Because it is important to make sure people are fully aware of the name-calling and violent rhetoric Pritzker has used towards Republicans, Mark Glennon put together a summary in this commentary:
MAGA Republicans are“modern American fascism,” he has said. No Republicans — none — “care about human life on even a single matter,” he has said. Claims about Republican attempts to end democracy are routine. “Let me be clear, he has said, “I loathe Donald Trump. Every stump speech I delivered in my 2018 campaign began with ‘Everything we care about is under siege by a racist, misogynist, homophobic xenophobic president.’” “Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now. These Republicans cannot know peace.”Pritker said.
And he devoted a large part of his February State of the State speech to labeling conservatives with the most vile insult possible: They are Nazis, he told us. That message was deliberate and unequivocal: “I do not invoke the specter of Nazis lightly,” he said in the speech.

Charlie Kirk’s blood is indeed on the hands of those who have stoked the flames of political violence, and Pritzker’s hands are among the bloodiest.
The Leftist reaction across the country shows you the fight that we are in. Administrators and teachers on campuses have spewed hate in the wake of the assassination. The response, fortunately, has been to fire them.
That’s a start.

But we have a ways to go, especially in Illinois.
Charlie put himself out there. While he had security, he wasn’t behind bullet-proof glass; he engaged in debate with others in a personal, close-up manner despite the animosity shown to him by not just students, but professors and the institutions themselves.
Catrina Barker, a reporter with Center Square, covered Charlie’s recent outing at Illinois State University. She wrote on her Facebook page:
“In April I was interviewing leftists and conservatives on ISU’s campus. A few things I took away from the event:
1. I didn’t feel safe. Trying to access the TPUSAs’ communications staff was impossible because ISU allegedly denied Charlie amplification devices, which led to the massive crowd huddling too close to Charlie so they could hear the debate. I quickly moved away from the front and focused on obtaining interviews in the back.
2 everyone who wanted to speak to Charlie was civil and excited. Mostly a moderate crowd. Fringe left was in the back and menacing attendees with blow horns. Professors and the small security team should have broken up the disruption.
Instead, professors, whom I spoke with, joined the agitators.
3 ISU appeared to have not boxed off the windows behind Charlie in the Bone Student Center. The top floors should have been blocked off to prevent people from being behind Charlie. In a window behind Charlie, one student held a sign that said “fascist” and there was a Nazi symbol. Professors should have quickly removed that individual from the window.
4. I am an alumna of ISU and I have a paper a professor graded of mine where he encouraged me to call Trump a “traitor” and called for Trump’s punishment as a traitor.
I bring this up not to place sole blame of Kirk’s assassination on Utah’s campus security, but to encourage individuals to realize college campuses must be viewed as some of the darkest places in the nation. Head on a swivel!”
Aurora, Illinois is making national news when the mayor failed to lower the flags to half-staff in response to both Trump’s and Pritzker’s orders to do so to honor Charlie Kirk.

In the wake of all this, while Charlie Kirk has made a significant impact on the youth, a new Heartland Institute/Rasmussen poll shows that we have much work to do to preserve Western thinking about free enterprise, our rights, and our U.S. Constitution
- 59% of likely voters aged 18-39 voiced support for a law that imposes a maximum annual income cap for individuals
- 40% of likely voters aged 18-39 said Americans who refuse to use others’ preferred gender pronouns should face fines and legal penalties
- 59% said they would support a proposal for a new constitutional amendment that would give the United Nations authority to oversee the Supreme Court and president to ensure Americans’ rights are being protected
