Illinois Dems Seek to Erase Biological Sex from Yet Another Law

Reprehensible partisan bill HB 2568, absurdly titled the “Equality for Every Family Act,” is floating down the sewage-y pipeline in Springfield. The main purpose of the bill is to satiate the insatiable appetite of sex and “gender” anarchists, aided and abetted by their cowardly sycophants, to use the law to embed systemically their anti-science bigotry in law. Thanks to State Senators Jil Tracy and Andrew Chesney, chief Senate sponsor of the bill Don Harmon failed in his embarrassing attempt to pretend the bill is centrally about new reproductive technologies.

HB 2568, more accurately titled the Systemic Erasure of Children’s Rights Act, is yet one more effort by sexuality radicals and “gender” superstitionists to erase all recognition of biological sex everywhere. To that end, throughout the bill all references to “mothers” and “fathers” are erased. Digging deep into the shabby bag of leftist Newspeak, Harmon calls this erasure “inclusion.” Nothing says inclusion of mothers and fathers quite like erasing them.

“Father” and “man” are replaced by either “person,” “genetic person,” “parent,” or “parent of the child.” “Paternity” is replaced with “parentage.”

“Mother’ is replaced by either “person” or “woman,” or “person who gave birth.” For some reason, “woman” is left in law. Why the bill’s sponsors didn’t demand mother be replaced by “person who provided eggs” is a mystery wrapped in a riddle inside the twisted mind of leftists.

The bill also erases the pronouns “his” and “her” when referring to children. All rhetorical traces of biological sex must be expunged from the law in the sci-fi world leftists seek to socially construct.

Harmon rationalized the need for the “modernization of Illinois’s parentage laws” and for “amending the Illinois Parentage Act and the Gestational Surrogacy Act,” claiming that,

The changes are required for a variety of reasons but principally because of emerging medical technologies in the field of reproductive health care. The underlying goal of the bill is to secure durable permanent parent-child relationships and to firmly establish the rights and responsibilities of parents.

Dissembler Don takes Illinoisans for chumps. He would have Illinoisans believe that emerging reproductive technologies require the excision of all references to biological sex, fathers, mothers, and paternity in law.

Senator Tracy is no chump. She asked,

I don’t understand why we want to take terminology like father and mother out of statutes. … Can you explain why that’s so important?

Harmon responded that in some cases a surrogate may carry a baby that is created with a donated egg, so, though she gives birth, she is not the biological mother.

But that doesn’t explain why the terms “father,” “paternity,” “his” and “her” must be expunged.

Senator Chesney, clearly recognizing Harmon’s dishonesty regarding the erasure of gendered language then stood to speak truth to a roomful of Democrat cowards, fools, and liars:

There’s only two genders. I was going to ask the question how many genders there were, and I don’t think I could get the answer by the majority over on the other side of the aisle. But this is precisely why President Trump won all seven swing states and won the popular vote. The first time that that’s happened in the Republican party for over 20 years because of the insanity that is happening on the other side of the aisle. … the Equality for Every Family Act … removes the reference of “father” and changes it with an “acknowledged parent.” … as a father, that’s offensive. … Gender is binary. It’s not, certainly, on a spectrum. There are only two genders. … And it leads into the greater problem that we’ve had … on so many other issues—why biological males are participating in women’s sports, why they’re entering into women’s locker rooms.

Adults changing laws to erase the objective fact that only men and women exist and that every child has a biological mother and father is something you might find in a dystopian satire or Southpark.

Lest anyone forget what a buffoon Don Harmon is, he reminded everyone in his concluding statement:

Both [Tracy and Chesney] indicated the need for this bill—[Chesney] by demonstrating the archaic thinking that is hostile to so many Illinois families.

A grown man who presumably took biology in high school believes language recognizing biological truths—truths that are deeply meaningful to many Illinois families—is archaic and hostile. Illinoisans deserve much better.

Because we are the proverbial frogs just feeling all warm and cozy while our skin peels off, we don’t seem to see the evil lurking in the legalese of this bill. It’s become cliché to allude to Orwellian language rules, but they apply. Here’s how George Orwell explained the use of Newspeak:

The purpose of Newspeak was not only to provide a medium of expression for the world-view and mental habits proper to the devotees of IngSoc [English Socialism], but to make all other modes of thought impossible. It was intended that when Newspeak had been adopted once and for all … a heretical thought … should be literally unthinkable, at least so far as thought is dependent on words. … This was done partly by the invention of new words, but chiefly by eliminating undesirable words. … The special function of certain Newspeak words … was not so much to express meanings as to destroy them.

This is not Illinois Dems’ first Newspeak rodeo. They passed the Gender Inclusive Child Welfare Act in 2023 that erased all gendered language from over a dozen laws, replacing gendered pronouns, “replacing ‘mother’ and ‘father’ with ‘parent,’ replacing ‘pregnant woman’ with ‘pregnant person,’ [and] replacing ‘Ombudsman’ with ‘Ombudsperson,’ etc.”’

Dems are getting a lot of propaganda mileage out of the word “inclusive.” They’ve worked it even harder than “safety” and “anti-racist.” Can’t allow kids knowing words that correspond to reality. Can’t have them knowing that humans with penises are “men” and persons who give birth are “women.” Wouldn’t be prudent.

Despite what you may have heard lately from the chicanery crowd, it’s not Republicans who are authoritarians. It’s Democrats. They’re scary authoritarians who are chomping at the bit to “unalive” Republicans. In the meantime, they’ll settle for abusing the law in pursuit of power.
