On June 28, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign hosted what has become de rigueur for “progressive” publicly subsidized “educational” institutions hell-bent on promoting sexual anarchy: an “All ages” … “whole family” … “fun, educational, and pride-filled” drag tea party. The spectacle was held at the Spurlock Museum, named after William R. Spurlock, an Eli Lilly executive who, in 1990, donated $8.5 million to the university, probably not to sponsor an event for children featuring crossdressing queers.
Less troubling but perhaps more surprising than a publicly subsidized university hosting a drag event for infants, toddlers, and preteens is the involvement of a local chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire (DBE) as the co-host of the tea party.
According to its website, the DBE “is a charitable, non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian, voluntary American society of women of British or Commonwealth birth, ancestry, naturalization, or marriage,” whose members join “together in fellowship” to “contribute significantly to the good of their local communities.”
Nothing says “community good” quite like entertaining children with cross-dressing men and women. Maybe someone should tell the daughters of the British Empire that co-hosting an event that affirms cross-dressing and homosexuality is both sectarian and wildly political.
The waggish wastrels who socially constructed this perverse, sectarian, political event named it “Tea with the King and Queen.” Get it, king and queen? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
The “queen” was “Herra Winn” (get it, “heroin/heroine”) who publicly promotes cannabis use on his Instagram account.
Another drag performer, “Grim Bastard,” talks affectionately about “Herra Winn’s” cultivation of younger drag performers: “She [sic] almost has the energy of a cult leader. … She’s [sic] like hoarding all of these drag babies and bringing people into her [sic] world.”
“Herra Winn’s” real name is Chandler Schmit. He’s an affectedly effeminate, 32-year-old native of Danville, Illinois who, according to his LinkedIn account, also works for Codagami, a Champaign-based tech company.
The tea party “king” was “Spank Knightly,” a charming moniker that pays homage to sadomasochistic kink—so child-friendly, so “whole family,” so good for the community.
“Spank Knightly,” real name Jess Schlipf, is a woman who refers to herself by the plural pronouns “they/them.” Schlipf, a graduate of Mahomet-Seymour High School, says her favorite of her own performances is a little musical number titled “Enormous Penis,” which can be viewed on her Instagram account. There too fans can see her topless.
The 32-year-old pronoun-confused Schlipf, born Jessica Miller, is married to Karl Schlipf, a research programmer at the University of Illinois, whom I assume knows that his wife is a singular person.
Any members of the DBE who may now want to rescind their membership, can contact Georgia Abrams, regent of the Lancashire Rose Chapter of the DBE, which serves Urbana-Champaign, Charlston, Springfield, Bloomington, Decatur, and Danville.
The contact person for the all-ages, whole-family drag tea party is Nicole Frydman (nfrydman@illinois.edu), who is the “queer” Manager of Communications and Development for the University of Illinois’ Spurlock Museum. According to the Daily Illini salary guide, we the people pay Frydman $65K.
And we wonder why millennials, Gen Zers, and Gen Alphas are composed of so many intellectually, emotionally, and morally deluded young people.
