The social media savvy AOC has done it again. Boy, oh, boy, has she ever. Last weekend, she sucked all the hot air out of the national atmosphere and as she expelled it, exposed the authentic AOC.
The soon-to-be 37-year-old opportunist posted TMI videos of herself both discussing her “personal” and “private” decision to salvage and store her eggs and showing her shooting up drugs as she starts the process of harvesting her aging oocytes.
In one of those videos posted Saturday night, AOC managed to squeeze in an advertisement for her appearance on ABC’s This Week airing mere hours later. She advertised that she would be injecting herself with fertility hormones in the television studio’s green room, which she did and recorded and posted.
And then right on schedule Sunday morning, both she and host Jonathan Karl announced her personal and private egg-harvesting announcement. Don’t that beat all, such fortuitous timing.
In one of her social media posts, the not-so-suddenly single AOC said oxymoronically,
I want to share with you all a decision that is very personal that I’ve made … that has taken me time to consider, weigh, and save up for. It is of a sensitive matter and a personal matter, and usually I keep my private life quite private.
As with all narcissists/influencers, she rationalizes her exploitative sensationalizing:
In this political environment, where this administration is denying reproductive care to women across the country, from abortion rights to the ability to carry out a healthy pregnancy, I think it’s important for us as leaders to have these conversations.
Let’s try to follow her reasoning. The Trump administration has reduced taxpayer funding for feticide, so AOC needs to show herself on social media preparing for the personal and private act of retrieving and freezing her eggs. Makes sense to no one.
She also makes a bizarre allegation that some unknown source is failing women:
As women in general, we are not taught about our bodies, we are not prepared for our own lives, whether that is in puberty … pregnancy …perimenopause, menopause, whether that is in so many different aspects of our lives.
What is she talking about? Who exactly does AOC think is responsible for teaching all this? Who exactly fell down on the job?
What about AOC’s mother? What about her “abuela” who was an active presence throughout AOC’s youth. What about AOC’s pediatrician? What about her primary care physician and gynecologist? What about high school and college health and biology courses? What about library books, magazines, and newspapers? The feminist bible Our Bodies, Ourselves was first published by the Boston Women’s Book Collective in 1970, almost twenty years before AOC was born. Simon & Shuster published an expanded, widely distributed edition in 1973.
For someone who claims to “feel empowered to make this [egg] choice,” she sure seems enfeebled when it comes to accessing information in this information age.
AOC whined,
Men run for office, or frankly they interview for jobs, and people don’t think in the back of their minds, “OK, this guy’s running for office, how old is he? Oh, well, is he going to want to start a family?”
First, how does AOC know what’s in the back of people’s minds? Is she omniscient?
Second, apparently, she doesn’t read much. Many people have commented on the age (and lack of accomplishments) of Zohran Mamdani. Many people have commented on the marital status of James Talarico. Many people commented for decades about the marital status of Lindsay Graham.
Third, sure, people often wonder different things about women than they wonder about men. That’s because women and men are different. They’re different anatomically, biochemically, psychologically, and emotionally. Women and men tend to have different interests.
Despite what deceitful trannies claim, men can’t carry and bear children. They can’t nurse babies. They don’t experience post-partum challenges. And it’s more often women than men who want to stay home and care full-time for their babies and children. Women are designed for pregnancy, birth, and nurturing. Men are designed for protecting and providing.
AOC is free to reject her natural design. She’s free to subordinate the creation and nurturance of children to political ambitions. She’s free to create life in a petri dish. And Americans are free to make judgments about her decisions. If she objects to public judgments of her personal and private matters, here’s an idea: don’t post about them on social media.
She’s also free to pay for her own ambitions and the unnatural choices she makes in service to them. But instead, she whines about having to scrimp and save to subsidize her voluntary, empowering private, personal choices:
My insurance does not cover one penny of this. It is 100% out of pocket. It doesn’t go to my deductible. Nothing. It covers nothing.
No one should pay one red cent for the choices AOC makes about her egg retrieval and storage. Her voluntary choices are no one’s obligation to subsidize. Just because people desire something doesn’t oblige others to provide it.
What makes these recent posts yet more bewildering is that seven years ago in 2019, she warned about the end of the world in 2031. She issued more than one Chicken Little portent. In that same year, with eyes struggling to produce tears and a performative trembling voice, AOC mewled,
I speak to you as a human being—a woman whose dreams of motherhood now taste bittersweet because of what I know about our children’s future.
Why bother to save eggs now if the world is ending in five years?
But, AOC is a prevaricator, an opportunist with a heart of deception and bad acting skills. There is no truth in her as Jonathan Karl’s interview revealed.
Karl asked her, “How have you changed since you came in as this insurgent rebel at odds with the Democratic leadership?”
Her response was a quintessential meaningless politico’s evasion:
[L]ife has a way of really weathering you and adding to your context and your experience. It humbles you, but it also emboldens you in a lot of ways. And I think it has been the greatest privilege of my life to be able to represent the working people of my congressional district. And I think some of the ways that it’s changed me has been to be able to come in with so many aspirations for our country, and then to have the remarkable opportunity to be in the arena and try to make the country a better place.
Maybe sharper people than me can divine how she’s changed from that mess of verbal pottage. Near as I can tell, she is claiming to be humbler and bolder. I don’t believe the former. I do believe the latter. Perhaps she has also become cagier, at least when running for office, a skill that will come in handy as she hatches her plans for a presidential run.
Karl asked AOC to comment on the positions of her fellow radical travelers:
What do you make of … the [Francesca Hong] Thanksgiving dust-up … “abolish prisons,” “abolish police,” which are also positions that have been taken by a lot of the progressive candidates.
For those who haven’t heard, in 2020 when current Wisconsin Democratic/DSA gubernatorial candidate Hong was 32 years old and the mother of a four-year-old, she tweeted,
Cancel Thanksgiving. Should have done this in 1621. If it takes a worldwide pandemic for us to realize we should stop celebrating colonialism and the original superspreader even that killed Indegenous [sic] folx and women so be it.
Pay closer attention to what candidates say before they were candidates than what they say as candidates.
AOC’s response to Karl’s question has spawned outrage from California to the New York island. She glibly laughed off his important question:
I have a local city councilman that has this saying: “Woke 1 was crazy.”
Sorry, AOC, that’s not the way this works. Neither your Cheshire grin, nor your guffawing dismissal of insane, destructive ideas renders moot all the stuff spewed and done by lefties during the Chinese Communist/Fauci-caused pandemic.
Real people were hurt. Real businesses were destroyed. Real government property was set ablaze. And those Woke 1.0 ideas still systemically poison our institutions, including our taxpayer-subsidized schools that have been churning out wokesters for decades.
AOC needs to say precisely which Woke 1.0 positions she now rejects, and which Woke 2.0 positions she plans to implement.
