It is a selfish, incompetent, and lazy strategy- keep the education standards low and lie about the results- to try and make themselves look good, but the truth eventually comes out.
A whistleblower recently called out Hillcrest High School for graduating 81% of their students despite the school’s abysmal proficiency test results. Hillcrest may be an extreme case, but the school’s principal is out there touting its recent improvements (which remain unverified).
Unfortunately, the trend for low educational standards is statewide, because the people at the top are more concerned about politics and lining their own pockets than they are with actual results that serve teachers, students, and families. The Illinois State Board of Education, teachers’ unions, and Democrat leaders have all put the necessary mechanisms in place to guarantee failure.
Ordinary Illinoisans are the ones footing the bill for this inexcusable mess.
