Recognition of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen as “Blessed” is a step before his final designation as a saint. He would be the first U.S. Bishop born in the United States to become a saint should he be found worthy of such and that designation conferred.

Taxpayer-funded Non-profits Protests Trump Visit

Protesting Trump outside Medinah Country Club is Arab American Family Services (AAFS), a non-profit raking it in from taxpayers.
In the last eight years, AAFS has received $8,330,409 from Illinois taxpayers. In 2024, they received $2,108151, which was 32% of their total revenues. Their IRS Form 990 from that year showed total revenue of $6,526,316.
They were given the money for a Welcoming Center, Partner Abuse Intervention Program, and Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Program.
Their Form 990 states their purpose as “ARAB AMERICAN FAMILY SERVICES IS A MULTI-SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO EMPOWERING AND ENHANCING THE LIVES OF ARAB AMERICANS BY PROVIDING THEM WITH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.”
So educational services means teaching their people not to beat their wife and kids, I guess.
In 2024, the Executive Director, ITEDAL SHALABI, paid herself $176,172 – according to the Form 990 published by ProPublica. AAFS is not a service organization.It is a progressive anti-American activist organization and they should be investigated for misuse of taxpayer money.

Here’s another taxpayer-funded non-profit protesting Trump.
ICIRR is the granddaddy of activist non-profits in Illinois. They are the instigators of dozens of protest marches and events over the years. I have written about their funding and activities before. READ HERE.
It’s remarkable that they unabashedly stand with a huge banner at a Trump protest even as they operate as a 501c3 non-profit which is generally prohibited from engaging in political activity, in fact, I don’t know a 501c3 that is allowed to overtly make such political statements.
According to the official Illinois Grant and Transparency Act website, the ICIRR has received $393,475,193 from Illinois taxpayers in just the last eight years of Pritzker’s administration.
In FY 24, they received $94,005,340. That is nearly 14.5 times what they received in FY19: $6,440,753, the year before Pritzker took office.
FOR WHAT? Activist activities, nebulous programs for immigrants, and lobbying.

Candidate Focus. Democrat State Senator Laura Ellman, Margaret DeLaRosa, Anne Stava
Eight years in office, Naperville State Senator Ellman, (D) IL-21, hasn’t restrained herself from voting for the most radical spending programs and irresponsible legislation that hurts families and businesses.
Above is just a short list of the terrible legislation she has backed.
Her funding, like most Democrat candidates, comes from the unions, the Democrat Party and its caucuses, and Democrat individual members. There are a number of lobbying groups that also fund her. A much smaller amount comes from individuals and sole proprietor businesses.
The last reporting on Ellman’s D2 statement (a quarterly campaign finance report) shows a balance of $307,022.81 as of 6/30/26. Since that reporting, Ellman has received donations from the following:
Democrat Party of IL $98,792
LiUNA, UFCW Local 881, Chicago Laborers, IPACE, AFSCME, IL Labors Legislative Committee – all union organizations, $5,000 each
Ameren – $4,000
And her fellow Democrat State Senator Linda Holmes – $10,000
The Linda Holmes donation is interesting, as Holmes was the chief sponsor and lead advocate for the assisted suicide bill. That bill passed the Illinois Senate with the bare minimum of 30 votes. Without Laura Ellman’s vote on the bill, it would have failed.
All Republicans and eight Democrats voted against the bill. Two Democrats refused to vote on the bill.
Back to Ellman’s funding.
Since her first run for state senate, her top donors have contributed at least the following amounts to her campaigns (I only totaled their bigger contributions):

It is no wonder she has supported ever-increasing budgets, tax hikes, toll hikes, and pro-labor legislation that makes doing business in Illinois more difficult.
Ellman also voted for requiring comprehensive sex ed, which includes LGBTQ curriculum beginning in kindergarten, the SAFE-T Act, requiring tampons in the boys’ bathrooms, and EV mandates for new housing, which drives up the cost of building homes.

Here’s another candidate who should lose in November. Bad on fiscal policy. Bad on social policy. Delarosa represents parts of Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Lombard, and Lisle in the 42nd State Rep District.
She was appointed to the position after Democrat Terra Costa-Us-A Lot – Howard was appointed as a judge. Delarosa was previously the Glenbard D87 school board president and helped pass the massive $183 million referendum that includes building a fancy atrium at Glenbard West for students to congregate in. Less than 60% of students are proficient in reading and only 50% are proficient in math. None of the referendum money will be spent to directly impact a student’s education.
Voters have a great choice instead of Delarosa. Republican Stephanie Trussell is running against Delarosa. Stephanie would be terrific in any debate in Springfield. She is unafraid to take on the Black caucus or any special interest and will relentlessly stand up for taxpayers.

In the wake of numerous reports about a homeless man harassing individuals, including children, in Glen Ellyn, suburban voters should be aware that these Woke legislators sponsored a bill that would allow the homeless to make permanent encampments on any public property. The bill also prohibited authorities from removing the homeless except in certain circumstances. This is dangerous policy and these legislators are idiots for supporting it.

Anne Stava, formerly Anne Stava-Murray, is Naperville’s irresponsible crazy legislator. As noted above she was in favor of letting the homeless take over any public place. Like Ellman, Stava has voted for higher budgets, more taxes, and every socially liberal policy one can conceive of.
Stava is also an unhinged racist lunatic and even Democrats in Naperville should be tired of her radical views. This Facebook post, which is now unavailable, shows her real side, not the one she is portraying in slick ads touting her vote on capping costs for epi pens.
In this post Stava accuses a fellow Democrat of being a racist for supporting Republican, Kari Galassi, instead of Stava’s fiance who is running against Galassi. Stava is fixated on identitarian policies and will readily throw out the race taunt.
The Democrat party is basically funding her campaign as they have in the past. She is also getting some union donations.
I met a voter when I was walking for her opponent. He had moved out of Stava’s neighborhood and took the time to share his story about when she was in charge of the HOA for his old home. He said she got peppered with questions about why work wasn’t being done in the common areas and that she had a complete meltdown. Couldn’t answer any questions and got emotional. He was stunned when she got elected as state rep, as she couldn’t even handle the HOA.
She really is unfit for the state house. No one respects her in Springfield.
Voters in this district have a great choice in Laura Hois. Laura is working really hard, and she will be a great voice in Springfield for taxpayers, business, and families. Laura’s website is https://hois4staterep.com/
Laura sued Downers Grove Park District for restricting free speech outside of the 15-by-15-foot zone in Fishel Park during park programming. She won the lawsuit. Read HERE.
