New SNAP Work Rules Arrive as Illinois Faces $770M Penalty

Illinois’ SNAP program is under renewed scrutiny as new work requirements take effect for able-bodied adults receiving food assistance benefits. As many as 120,000 Illinois residents could lose SNAP benefits unless they meet updated federal work, volunteer, or training requirements.
