Red Herring: Book-Banning
Leftists’ new glittery red herring is “book-banning,” which they swing around frantically, trying to divert everyone’s gaze from the relentless word- and book-banning of the worker bees who keep the Hive Mind buzzing and humming along as queens acquire yet more power. Before we take a stroll through the real censorship dystopia, let’s briefly review some of the things leftists with creepy gleams in their jaded eyes call “book-banning.”

A Tale of Two Governors
On President’s Day last Monday, I had the privilege to be a part of Governor DeSantis’ visit to Elmhurst for his Back the Blue three-city tour. The event was a closed, by-invitation-only event with the focus on inviting law enforcement officers. The few of us authorized to share the invitation with others were specifically told not to share it over social media or in an email. It was inevitable that the invitation was going to get leaked. When it did, on Thursday before the event, the vitriol from members of the Democrat party, including Governor Pritzker, truly showed them as the bullies they are.

It’s a Scam…
It;s a Scam. I am talking about the complete failure of Evidenced Based School Funding (EBF), the new system adopted to spend state money on education in 2017. At the time of the bill’s passage, Illinois was the number one state for reliance on local taxes to fund schools. This created large disparities in how much was spent on education among our 862 school districts (Florida, with nearly 70% more people, has only 68 school districts, btw); those disparities were mostly a factor of local property wealth and the numerous special grants that overtook the old general state aid formula over time.

There are a couple of hot-button issues that just get my blood boiling to use an old cliché. One of them is the hysterical response to the COVID-19 virus. How people responded to COVID ended up being very revealing – and for that, we should be thankful.

The Problem Setting Illinois Apart
Fentanyl is produced in China and transported to the U.S. by Mexican drug cartels. No amount of Fentanyl is safe, yet HB3447 now classifies the possession of up to 3gm of Fentanyl as a misdemeanor. That’s more than enough Fentanyl to kill approximately. 1500 people!
