On the night of April 18, 2024, at Columbia University, a pro-Hamas American seething with rage shrieked, “You all remember the 7th of October? That will happen not 1 more time, not 5 more times, not 10 more times, not 100 more times, not 1,000 more times. [It will happen] 10,000 more times.”
Other chants in the ugly pro-Hamas protests roiling Columbia and resulting in arrests of terrorist supporters who conceal their identities behind Keffiyeh costumes include,
- “There is only one solution, Intifada Revolution.”
- (Pointing at Jewish students), “Al Qassam’s [Hamas’] next targets”
- “Ya, Hamas, we love you. We love your rockets too.”
- “Ya, Hamas, give them hell.”
A call for an Intifada revolution in America should worry Americans in that it constitutes a call for violence against Israel, Jews, and anyone who supports Israel and Jews.
One of the protestors arrested at Columbia’s Barnard College was illegal immigrant U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar’s daughter, the “hyper-woke” Isra Hirsi, whose actions prove rotten trees produce rotten fruit.
Last Friday, Jewish students sent a letter to Minouche Shafik, Columbia University’s president, expressing concerns about their safety and urging the administration to take action to address the threats of violence that began immediately after Oct. 7 and have intensified with the tent city-like protests, named the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment.” Gaza is Hamas. The people of Gaza elected Hamas. And polling shows most Gazans support Hamas.
It should shock every American that students on an American campus would proudly announce their solidarity with a genocidal terrorist organization that targets civilians, burns babies alive, mutilates and rapes women, deprives their own people of water, and uses children and hospitals as shields.
While hundreds of students have used their student IDs to access the campus encampment, the ID of Israel-born assistant professor in Columbia’s Business Department, Shai Davidai, was deactivated in order to ban him from campus after he tried to lead a pro-Jewish rally.
As reported by National Review on Wednesday, April 24, a group of 1,400 leftist academics have penned their own letter with ludicrous demands:
The boycotting academics are demanding that … Barnard College, Teacher’s College, and Columbia University expunge all charges (including suspensions) from and restore campus privileges to the students who protested, as well as reinstate suspended student groups Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine and Columbia Jewish Voices for Peace … and the police presence on campus be removed. …
The open letter further endorses the demands of the Columbia University “Gaza Solidarity Encampment,” which include … severing ties with the New York Police Department, [and] providing reparations for low-income Harlem residents.
Similar pro-terrorist protests and demands are erupting on more campuses, including New York University, Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Brown, University of Texas at Austin, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, Rice University, American University, University of California-Berkeley, and University of Southern California.
The vipers are coming home to nest. The billions of dollars wasted annually on DEI offices, administrators, professional development, speakers, and curricular or supplementary materials have created and/or fed anti-Semites who are poisoning American college and university campuses and cities.
We didn’t heed the graphic warnings splashed across our TV and computer screens during the 2020 “summer of love” when mostly anarchical protestors torched and looted cities, and so the propagandists in our schools at all levels continued slurping cash from the public trough to spread their poison.
These new protests in support of savages provide yet more evidence that not one penny of taxpayer money should go to any university or college that spends one penny on spreading divisive, destructive DEI dogma.
Writing in First Things two years ago, Columbia University graduate David Acevedo warned,
The truth is that the campus activists Columbia administrators are trying to pacify don’t care all that much about diversity, equity, or inclusion—in no small part because these three concepts have come to mean the opposite of what their names would imply. “Diversity” means a complete rejection of intellectual diversity for the sake of immutable and unearned census categories; “equity” means unfairly handicapping the so-called privileged in favor of the so-called oppressed; “inclusion” means excluding all perspectives that do not fit neatly within a far-left worldview.
Indeed, the DEI charade is about nothing more than accruing power and crushing resistance. … All this to say, campus radicals will not stop.
Indoctrinated students ignorant of history erroneously believe the evildoers in the Hamas-Israeli conflict are the Israelis. In the socially constructed DEI/CRT dystopia in which groups are designated as either oppressed or oppressor, Jews are considered white oppressors.
Promoters of the DEI ideology also seek to transform students into radical activists in service of leftist political causes, which include opposition to Israel ensuring there are not 10,000 more Oct. 7ths. And so we have ideologues camping out on campuses, chanting ugly slogans in support of an evil regime, and striking fear in the hearts of Jewish students. That’s tolerance to leftists.
Leftist students filled to overflowing with leftist propaganda believe that Israel is guilty of apartheid, whereas it is Hamas and its puppet masters in Iran that seek not merely apartheid but complete annihilation of the Jewish people, preceded when possible by torture and mutilation.
Supporters of terrorism, having drunk deeply from the poisoned academic well into which leftist faculty pour leftist dogma while filtering out dissenting ideas, believe they are the equivalent of 1960’s Civil Rights activists whereas, in reality, they come frighteningly close to being the contemporary incarnation of Nazis.
Will Americans of all religions, races, and ethnicities work tenaciously to stop the poison of anti-Semitism from spreading? Will they demand that no government money be spent at institutions that have DEI offices? Will they stop sending their children to colleges and universities that promote the DEI juggernaut?
Will Americans come alongside our Jewish friends and neighbors, or will Americans choose the cowardly path of least resistance as the German people did almost a century ago?
