Now that former Chicago Teachers Union organizer Brandon Johnson is both CTU shill and mayor of Chicago, CTU President Stacy Davis Gates is making her eye-popping moves. CTU demands, as revealed in a leaked document, are so outrageous that they’re making national news and providing more rationale for Illinoisans contemplating an exodus from the Land of Political Malfeasance.
The Illinois Policy Institute has provided a comprehensive overview of the shocking demands of the Chicago Grifters Union which reveals the grifters’ top two goals: 1. money, money, money for themselves via picking taxpayer pockets, and 2. advancement of leftist views and values via picking taxpayer pockets. Heads, grifters win. Tails, taxpayers lose.
Their fiscal demands include a program to help new teachers purchase homes. So, Illinois taxpayers who can’t afford homes or struggle to pay their mortgages will be forced to help Chicago teachers buy homes. This demand is all the more galling because according to the Illinois Policy Institute the average salary of CTU members stands at a whopping $93,182.
While ordinary Illinoisans—also known by a prominent Democrat as deplorables—would be on their knees thanking God for a $93,000 salary, CTU grifters are clamoring for more.
Illinois Policy Institute’s Bryce Hill warns,
[I]f the Chicago Teachers Union gets its way with the mayor they helped elect, their next contract will boost the average teacher’s pay by half to $144,620 in the 2027-2028 school year. …
Teacher pay rose more than $43,000 since 2012 – nearly triple the private-sector salary increase. If CTU’s demands are met, another $51,438 will be added to the average salary by the next contract – a 55.2% increase.
So, why exactly do CTU grifters believe they deserve such hefty salary increases? Surely, they don’t believe their masterful teaching skills entitle them to higher salaries than private sector workers earn.
The average SAT score for Chicago Public School students in 2023 was a sorry 914—down for the fourth consecutive year.
According to the Illinois Report Card, in 2023, only 25.9 percent of CPS students “met” or “exceeded” reading standards, and only 17.5 percent of CPS students “met” or “exceeded” math standards.
Maybe these stats are part of the reason CTU President Gates chooses to send her son to a private school while denying school choice to less privileged parents.
But greed is not the only vice driving CTU grifters. Peddling propaganda masquerading as “education” is another driving force. Using other people’s money to create ideological clones (and leftist activists) in their own image is the raison d’être of the CTU.
In the service of their presumptuous goals, the CTU’s demands include the following:
- Taxpayers must fund 100 percent of the cost of creating and freezing human embryos.
- Taxpayers fund 100 percent of the cost of aborting humans in the wombs of CTU employees.
- Taxpayers must fund “gender affirming care” for teachers and their dependents. That is, taxpayers would subsidize chemical and surgical interventions to conceal the sex of teachers and/or their spouses or children.
- No union member will be required to share with parents the sexual orientation or “gender identity” of their own children.
- “Each school” must have a “gender support coordinator” and/or a “LGBTQ+ lead/specialist.” However did schools manage for hundreds of years to educate children without gender support coordinators?
- Each school may expand their team of sexual deviance coordinators and specialists up to five members and the Chicago School Board (hereafter the “BOARD”) must “fully fund” these expanded teams with “training and stipends.”
- To appease the grifters who can’t figure out if they’re male or female, throughout the leaked document, every occurrence of the pronouns “he or she” or “his or her” is replaced with “they” or “their,” resulting in dozens of grammatically incorrect sentences.
- BOARD members must refer to teachers by whatever screwball pronouns and names those teachers prefer—”AT ALL TIMES.” I’m not sure who will be assigned the role of language monitor when school board members are at home, but I bet they’ll be paid handsomely.
- School staff will be “encouraged” to use students’ invented names and screwball pronouns except when school staff are lying to parents.
- The BOARD must “ensure that all counselors, clinicians, social workers, and psychologists and other wellness staff/clinicians are queer competent” and indoctrinated annually with leftist LGBTQ+ dogma.
- (Secure those thinking caps for this next doozy of a demand): “The BOARD shall create a network position for an LGBTQ+ lead in each network to address the need for more LGBTQ+ support across the district. The LGBTQ+ lead shall have the authority to enforce the CPS policy on transgender and gender nonconforming students and for enforcing gender support plans. The LGBTQ+ lead shall have the authority to approve school-based [gay clubs] and expand library book and curriculum offerings for schools within their network.” (emphasis added)
- Schools must provide eight weeks of leave for employees who rent out their wombs for the purpose of the de facto sale of a human person (whitewashed term: surrogacy). So, Illinois taxpayers would be forced to subsidize a practice that many Illinoisans find morally abhorrent.
There is much more in the leaked document to unsettle the complacent and enrage those already involved in trying to right Illinois’ sinking ship of state. (Just wait till you read what the Greta Thunberg-wannabes are demanding). In fact, there’s something to offend virtually all Republicans, many independents/libertarians, and even a smattering of Democrats. The Chicago Teachers Union is extreme enough, arrogant enough, and foolish enough to achieve the unlikely: unite Illinoisans.
