After 30 years of living in Australia, first as a U.S. Air Force officer flying satellites and then as a civilian contractor doing the same, David decided in 2021 to leave Australia and return to the U.S.
During COVID, Australia had slid into an authoritarian state with harsh mandates, severe lockdowns, and even quarantine camps.
David had dual citizenship. His wife, Marieta, held citizenship in Australia and the Philippines and had been a US Green card holder until she accidentally let it lapse. Their two daughters, who were born in the US, held dual citizenship as well.
To return permanently to the U.S., David and Marieta filed for a new Green Card for her in February 2022. They thought it would be a breeze.
After all, they had filed over 30 years of federal tax returns together as a married couple, owned properties in the U.S., had US-born children, and David was a veteran.
Unbelievably, they were told it would take 11-17 months to get Marieta a new green card.
As a Florida resident who voted regularly, David contacted his Congressman for help to no avail. They decided to wait it out and sent the girls ahead of them to Florida to reestablish their lives in America.
They are still waiting.
It’s now over two years since they began the process to have Marieta enter legally. The US Customs and Immigration Service is useless. Hundreds of thousands cross illegally every month, while people who play by the rules get cheated.
Dave is my brother-in-law, and Marieta is my sister-in-law.
Now, for those who don’t play by the rules, President Biden issued an Executive Order essentially giving amnesty to illegals who have lived here for decades if they are married to a U.S. citizen. These new recipients of amnesty aren’t similar to my sister-in-law. She never entered illegally, but these new recipients of amnesty did, and many availed themselves of public benefits for decades.
When asked about the new program, Biden’s press secretary, Karine Jean Pierre, said that they believe the average time someone eligible for this new amnesty program has been in the country illegally is 23 years. 23 Years. Residing in our country illegally and taking benefits. And my sister-in-law had to hire a lawyer to simply renew her lapsed green card.
Included in this new amnesty group is Congresswoman Delia Ramirez’s husband. Politico reported that she will directly benefit from Biden’s EO and was present at the announcement of the new program.
From the article:
“Being the only member of Congress in a mixed-status family, it hits different,” she {Ramirez} said in an interview with Inside Congress after the White House event. “To be able to physically watch the president, while I’m holding my husband’s hand, talk about the things he will do to make sure the families stay together is also very affirmative to the fact that a number of us have been for years working towards this moment.”
Her husband, Boris Hernandez, is undocumented and a DACA recipient stuck in limbo waiting for his immigration status to be adjusted. Ramirez (D-Ill.), who was backed by the progressive Justice Democrats in her bid for Congress, has been a vocal critic of Biden’s immigration policy, particularly after his previous executive action to limit border crossings.
“To me, it’s really important to continue to fight to protect people’s ability to be able to seek asylum, while also acknowledging when the president does the right thing,” she said.
President Biden’s double Executive Orders on illegal immigrants are appalling.
The Democrats have no respect for our laws. Let’s not forget who Delia Ramirez cares about most – anyone other than lawful citizens. She is the architect of the billion-dollar non-citizen healthcare benefit that gives people here illegally better healthcare than citizens.

I discussed both of Biden’s executive orders on my radio show The Real Story.
