Public Corruption in Illinois
Meet Jerry and Kyley Willison. They’re the father-and-son team that stole $225,000 dollars from taxpayers of the Oakland Fire Protection District (FPD). Oakland is a very small community in Coles County near Charleston, Illinois. The population is about 900 people, and at the time of the theft, both Jerry and Kyley Willison were Oakland FPD trustees.
The Edgar County Watchdogs broke the story and did the preliminary investigation before authorities took over.

Stop Springfield’s Student Screening of School Children
By now, many readers are likely aware of the new Illinois law that Gov. Pritzker just signed – another of his “first in the nation” ones, and that fact alone should be a warning to all that the bill is a disaster.
The bill mandates schools provide mental health screenings to 3rd-12th graders beginning next school year. BTW – Universal mental health screening is already happening in 28% of school districts.

Bills In Springfield To Watch
This week brought another clash between the Trump movement and the Democrat party. The Presidential Address to Congress on Tuesday night was a spectacle, courtesy of certain Democrats.
They came loaded for bear. Some walked out, one got thrown out, and many held up paddles saying “False” and other things; nearly all of them sat in silence when young Americans were praised for coming through difficult personal trials, many caused by terrible public policies like illegal immigration or letting men play on women’s teams.

Doubling Down on Bad Policy During Lame Duck Session
Instead of canceling Lame Duck session, Democrats called legislators into session for four days in the middle of a snowstorm and passed bills for which there was no immediate urgency and many of which were highly controversial. Their tone-deafness extended to passing bills that allowed illegals to hide their true identity, doubled down on DEI policies, and mandated the expansion of renewable energy incentives which will cost taxpayers and ratepayers millions.
