8 Molotov Cocktails, $10 Billion & Pritzker’s “Relief”

Hamed Mohammed Hamed Alsaidi, a criminal illegal alien from Jordan

Governor JB Pritzker does not care about people’s safety in this state, nor do his minions in the state legislature. It isn’t just some amorphous number reported by Border Patrol – terrorists really did cross the border under Biden and intend to do harm to Americans.

From the Department of Homeland Security Press Release:

According to local reporting, police in Mokena, Illinois arrested Hamed Mohammed Hamed Alsaidi, a criminal illegal alien from Jordan, after he displayed suspicious behavior in the early morning hours of August 1. Police officers first encountered him at a closed gas station, told him he could not be there, and took him to another gas station that was open. He gave the officers an alias of Hakmat Saidi. Later that same morning, he was seen walking in lanes of traffic, after which he was arrested. Officers learned his real name and found EIGHT Molotov cocktails in his possession.

UNBELIEVABLY, a Will County judge let Alsaidi out of jail following the arrest!

ICE lodged a detainer with Will County the same day Alsaidi was arrested. Will County sanctuary politicians refused to honor the detainer and released him on August 2 without notifying ICE, after Will County Judge Theodore Jarz granted Alsaidi a pretrial release. ICE law enforcement arrested Alsaidi on August 4.

“This criminal illegal alien was arrested after he was found to have EIGHT Molotov cocktails in his possession and gave a false name to officers. He now faces charges of unlawful possession of a weapon and obstructing identification,” said a DHS Spokesperson. “Even though ICE lodged a detainer, sanctuary politicians in Will County, Illinois refused to honor it and released him without notifying ICE. Fortunately, thanks to the brave men and women of ICE, we have apprehended him and he remains in ICE custody. Governor J.B. Pritzker and his fellow sanctuary politicians need to stop putting American lives at risk with their reckless, America Last policies.”

Alsaidi illegally entered the United States through California in March 2024. He was then RELEASED into the country by the Biden Administration.

The Trump administration is now suing local officials for failure to cooperate with ICE requests.

As reported in this article,

Federal authorities sent Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart subpoenas for inmates wanted for civil immigration enforcement along with letters that threatened criminal charges if the office didn’t turn over the individuals, according to the sheriff’s office and public records obtained by the Tribune.

The letters from Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, obtained through a Freedom of Information request, contended that Dart could face charges of witness tampering if his office did not allow inmates to fulfill the terms of the subpoena, which called for them to appear before immigration authorities.

It’s common sense that local law enforcement should cooperate with federal law enforcement on immigration issues – unless you are controlled by radical progressive Democrats who like terrorists.

CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD MATH

Chicago Public School Board knowingly passed an unbalanced budget by counting on extracting $150 million more in state funding by bullying lawmakers in an election year, including JB Pritzker. Read HERE.

In doing so, they violated their fiduciary responsibilities. And now CTU leaders are saying the state owes them $2 billion due to underfunding since the 2017 Evidence-Based Funding Formula was passed.

This is absolute nonsense. CPS spends over $31,000 per student. The EBF Formula, which uses numerous inputs including an inflation factor, calculates the “Adequate” amount to spend per student for the most recent year at $18,837.95.

You read that right. The gurus at the Illinois State Board of Education are so smart that they calculate to the penny how much should be spent on each student in each of the 852 school districts.

Here’s a primer on the EBF formula: https://www.isbe.net/Documents/EBF-Basics.pdf

Here’s a screenshot of the adequacy numbers for CPS from the latest (FY26) EBF calculation.

Here is a 2018/2026 comparison of key data from the EBF formulas.

Look at these OFFICIAL numbers for CPS:

Overall enrollment is down 56,583 students.

Low-Income Count is down significantly – 90,547 students. This is important because school districts get extra funding based on their low-income count.

EAV is up 33%. EAV is a measure of local wealth used in the calculation to determine how much local resources should be able to provide for school funding. Increased local wealth typically means schools are closer to adequacy.

But again, most importantly, CPS just passed a nearly $10 billion budget, and using last year’s student count, that means they are spending over $31,000 per student. The state says they only need $18,837.95 to educate a student.

Capital News Illinois put out this article, School funding stretched thin as costs rise, corporate revenue source shrinks, saying more school districts are now struggling to reach “adequacy” due to rising costs. It’s not true. Their complicated formula isn’t even followed, so how can they say current funding is inadequate? But here’s a solution: tell Governor Pritzker to sign on to the federal tax credit scholarship program so that federal money can flow to parents to help support their kids’ education and lessen the burden on taxpayers.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY AUGUST 7-16, 2026

Governor Pritzker, as reported in this article, does what he always does – pretends that he is looking out for struggling families and blames President Trump for high prices. Absolute nonsense!

“In Illinois, parents are working every day to make sure their kids have all the support they need, but failed leadership in Washington is raising prices and squeezing families’ budgets,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “Every child deserves to walk into the classroom on equal footing with what they need to learn and grow. Every parent deserves the breathing room and peace of mind to prepare and focus on helping their kids succeed. This action gives families a little bit more relief by helping them save on back-to-school necessities.”

Pritzker wants you to forget that he has had eight years to bring down property taxes, the highest in the nation, which the federal government has no control over.

He wants you to forget that he has added or expanded 66 taxes in 8 years, accounting for over $77 billion in new taxes.

He wants you to think he had no role in higher electricity prices with his green new deal scams.

And, most importantly, he is still denying parents access to the newly created tax credit scholarship that even Democrat governors in Colorado and New York have signed on to. It would provide direct relief to all parents with kids in school, public, private, or homeschooling.

Instead, he wants you to believe cutting 5% of the state sales tax for 10 days is going to provide significant relief to parents. It is a pittance compared to what he could do.

This holiday was enacted under the Fiscal Year 27 state budget package as part of the Governor’s commitment to improving affordability for families. The move seeks to ease rising costs around the back-to-school season by waiving its 5% sales tax on qualifying purchases. Any applicable local sales tax will continue to apply.

”The Back-to-School Sales Tax holiday was a priority of the FY27 budget because of our commitment to affordability and accessibility for our families,” said Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton. “We’re actively working to reduce costs across the board, from housing, education, childcare, and the essentials during this tax holiday, so our families can feel a little relief in their wallets this month.”

Shoppers will still pay local county and municipal taxes. At this link is a list of items that qualify for the lower sales tax:

https://tax.illinois.gov/research/publications/bulletins/fy-2026-30.html

Brian Costin, Illinois Executive Director for Americans for Prosperity, says the 10-day sales tax reprieve may save taxpayers collectively $10 million. But the .25 cent tax increase that Pritzker just signed into law will cost taxpayers collectively $478 million annually.

By the way, when it comes to sales taxes, Illinois has the 8th highest in the country, and we are higher than any of our neighbors. Indiana ranks 24th, Wisconsin 42nd, Iowa 29th, and Missouri 12th highest.

WOULDN’T IT BE NICE?

To answer the Beach Boys’ question, yes, it WOULD be nice if Aurora’s petition drive were to become the next major legal battle over whether Illinois cities have the authority to let voters recall their own elected leaders.

Considering the state’s unspeakable tax burden, horrific fiscal management, failing public schools, unemployment, high cost of living, high crime, filthy cities and public corruption (just to name a few of Illinois’ blights), something has to give. Ordinary citizens need a legitimate way to rid themselves of the terrible ‘leadership’ that continues to drag us all through the mud even though there are ZERO consequences for them throwing us into the pit in the first place.

It would be REALLY, REALLY nice if this became a statewide trend!
