Election Chaos in Republican Primary, Student Protests, and Budget Address this Week
There are multiple problems in Republican Primary races in Illinois this year and all of the chaos was preventable.
For DuPage County voters, early voting was suspended on Friday and will not resume until Monday or Tuesday. No Vote-by-Mail ballots have been sent out due to candidate challenges for ballot access. VBM ballots are expected to be in mailboxes by next Saturday or the following week.
On Friday, the election commission was notified that an appellate court ruled that TeDora Brown was authorized to be on the ballot as a Republican candidate for the 11th Congressional District.

DOGEIL: ICIRR $42M To Protest ICE and Trump
Illinois will spend nearly $41 million dollars on just one specific program called “Immigrant Integration.” At the height of Biden’s open border policy, the amount was over $93 million.
Another state program is Welcoming Centers. The GATA database says this about Welcoming Centers:
The Illinois Welcoming Centers Program (IWC) has four fundamental components: Comprehensive Case Management, Community Education, Community Alliances, and Co-location. The goals of the Illinois Welcoming Center Program are to strengthen the overall human service delivery system for immigrants,

America 400 Years Later — How did we get here as a society?
It was a horrific week for crime in Chicago. It started on Monday with the deranged lunatic man with 72 arrests filling up a plastic bottle with gasoline — which is illegal, and why didn’t the gas station attendant stop him? — 20 minutes later, he poured it over a young woman riding the CTA and then set her on fire.
The work week ended with the Friday teen takeover in the Chicago loop,

Illinois State Rep. Kelly Cassidy More Unhinged Than Ever
Illinois’ worst state representative, Kelly Cassidy, is becoming nastier and more unhinged as time passes. She is “heaping oppression upon oppression, and deceit upon deceit.” She proceeds “from evil to evil.”

Pritzker Idiotic Statements – IL DOGE Quick Hit
Speaking of unhinged Democrats, here are three examples of far-out, ridiculous comments by Pritzker just this week.
1. Pritzker, at the Human Rights Campaign dinner, attempts to say something even more stupid than Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett calling Texas Gov. Abbott “Hot Wheels.” Pritzker says introducing kids to the gay agenda could lead to them becoming Governor. READ Laurie Higgins’s more expansive article on this dinner below.

Readying To Balloon Illinois Pension Debt
This week as many of us were busy tidying up last-minute details in preparation for Christmas and New Year celebrations, important stories on a myriad of issues came out.
One of those stories will likely be the subject of one of the biggest debates in next year’s Spring legislative session in Illinois and taxpayers better beware.

Fed Up? 2024 Illinois Election: It’s Time to Vote Differently and End the Scams
It’s election time. Nationally, most voters have made up their minds about the top of the ticket.
But what about those state legislative and county races?
What will Illinois voters do? Are they really that upset about their property taxes? Especially the folks in the south suburbs, who have seen double-digit percentage increases in taxes in just one year.
Will paying thousands more in just one year for the same house you’ve lived in for years,

It Was All One Big Show Put on by The Democrats
This photo sums up entirely the Democratic National Convention in Chicago from my perspective, and likely the perspective of most of my readers. We’re not alone. The Wall Street Journal wrote this about Kamala Harris’ speech which was emblematic of all the others. “Kamala Harris introduced herself to the American public on Thursday evening, and her presentation was much like this week’s Democratic convention: well delivered, confident and optimistic,

In Other News: Illinois
John Deere Laying Off Workers, Moving Production to Mexico
FOX 32 reported the news that 610 workers will lose their jobs at plants in Iowa and Illinois due to slower demand. Earlier this month Deere announced that some of its current production in Iowa will move to Mexico.
I bet if Pritzker gave them $827 million in tax incentives like he did Rivian or even $537 million like CCP-controlled Gotion got,

In Illinois, You Are Taxed On A Tax – Gas Tax
There are lots of news stories about Illinois’ gas tax going up on July 1st to 47 cents a gallon from its current tax of 45.4 cents per gallon. The tax that is increasing is the Illinois Part A tax. Part B tax changes at the first of the year and is calculated by multiplying the average cost of gas per gallon in Illinois in the previous year by 6.25%. The federal tax has been unchanged for decades and is 18.4 cents per gallon.
