Illinois State Rep. Kelly Cassidy More Unhinged Than Ever

In yet another of her many awful floor performances, Illinois State Representative lesbian Kelly Cassidy once again demonstrates her ignorance, sanctimony, nastiness, and dishonesty. Cassidy is practiced at art of deception—more specifically, demagoguery—a particular form of deception of which politicians are fond.

In order to fully grasp how manipulative and unhinged Cassidy is requires watching her performance. A mentally unwell Cassidy, visibly trembling with unholy rage and glaring at her colleagues—colleagues whom she recently accused of being pedophiles—accused them of “demonizing trans people,” “targeting trans youth,” of having an “obsession with trans youth,” and having “blood on their hands.” Citing no evidence, she blamed Republicans for “21 suicides and attempted suicides by trans youth.” Republican State Representative and physician Bill Hauter described her accusations as “vile.”

What did these Republicans do to merit Cassidy’s disturbing performance? They expressed the view widely held today and universally held cross-culturally since girls began playing sports that minor boys do not belong in the sports of minor girls.

Here is the video followed by a transcript of her screed. To fully appreciate how unprofessional and even bizarre Cassidy’s theatrics were, watch the video first.

For the better part of this session, we have spent a great deal of time hearing from folks on the other side of the aisle talking about a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population, demonizing trans people and in particular targeting trans youth.

And yes I have expressed anger and frustration and heartbreak at it so much so that our colleagues spent the better part of a week attempting to erase words, words that  made them uncomfortable, just as at the federal level the Republican administration led by your fearless  leader Donald Trump is attempting to erase people from history whether it is foolishly deleting a picture  of the Enola Gay because it said “gay” from a Department of Defense website or mandating harmful abusive treatments as appropriate treatments for transgender folks.

And that’s bad enough on its face really but something happened last week that made me even more questioning of the humanity of the folks who express their obsession with trans youth on this floor in a conversation that I would call a last-ditch effort to rescue a collegial relationship. One of my colleagues replied, “Come on, Kelly, you know the game.”

Another colleague recently shared with me overhearing another one of our Republican colleagues referring to what they call … the game “fishing for Cassidy.” I want to tell you what the outcome of your game is. Your game involves sharing the likeness, name, and location of a child the child in Naperville that y’all have spent more than a week banging the drum about. You shared the images of this child. It became international news. This family has been faced with countless death threats because you think it’s a game.

Since January, the organization Trans Up Front that serves families of trans children reported has had reports of 21 suicides and attempted suicides by trans youth. This is the outcome of what you call a game. You can fish for Cassidy all day every day baby, but when you come for kids, you’re going to catch the car and get dragged. You have blood on your hands. The blood of these children is on your hands. You are driving children to suicide. Examine yourselves. Examine your humanity. You have blood on your hands. You can’t erase those words.

Perhaps sensing Cassidy was coming unglued, a Democrat colleague embraced her when the soliloquy finally ended—either that or Cassidy’s friend mawkishly hugged her for melodramatic effect.

In the service of normalizing disordered sexuality and gender-identity confusion, mentally and morally ill activists like Cassidy place children at the forefront of their sick battle and then try to blame conservatives for any harm that comes to these children.

It’s unfortunate that high school students are becoming news stories, but the blame rests with leftist adults—their parents, political activists like Cassidy, school leaders, physicians, and mental health “professionals”—for putting them where they don’t belong. Americans have no ethical obligation to remain silent when girls are being unjustly forced to compete against boys and share girls’ restrooms and locker rooms with boys.

Republicans are not obsessed with “trans” youth. Republicans are responding to the obsession Cassidy and her ideological ilk have with deracinating ontological and moral views on sexuality and “gender” that they detest and reject. Republicans are responding to Cassidy and her collaborators’ obsessive efforts to remake cultural practices and policies to align with their distorted desires.

Cassidy refers to a “fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population,” while eliding the fact that the number of girls affected by this fraction of a fraction of the population is considerably larger.

Moreover, what exactly is Cassidy’s moral argument about the number of “trans” youth? Is she arguing that because the number is small, the injustices girls suffer should be tolerated?

Someone should demand Cassidy provide the source for the unreliable “trans” advocacy group Trans Up Front’s claims about “21 suicides and attempted suicides by trans youth.”

  • How many of the 21 were suicides? How many were attempted suicides?
  • From where did Trans Up Front get these reports?
  • Did they verify the accuracy of these reports?
  • Is there proof that these suicides and suicide attempts were a result of Illinois lawmakers arguing that the Naperville boy shouldn’t be competing against girls?
  • When exactly did these suicides and attempted suicides take place—before or after the Naperville story made news?
  • Were there any other factors that may have caused the suicides or suicide attempts? It is well known that minors who experience gender dysphoria have myriad co-morbidities and life traumas, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, phobias, childhood abuse, and autism.

While leftists like Cassidy pretend that social disapproval is the main or singular cause of suicide, suicide attempts, and suicidal ideation among gender-confused minors, others view their gender-confusion as yet another symptom of underlying mental illness. Perhaps it is activists like Cassidy who are harming children by telling them that their delusion is healthy and good.

Did the expression “fishing for Cassidy” having anything at all to do with Republican efforts to maintain single-sex sports? Or could it mean Republicans would like the foolish and churlish Cassidy to be gone from the Illinois House? Maybe her faux-umbrage about the “fishing for Cassidy” comment is a tactic to add something new to her self-constructed identity: Cassidy the martyr.

Cassidy pretends to be in high dudgeon over the very idea that political machinations are often called a “game,” and yet in her screed, she played a common political game when she referred to the recent Enola Gay controversy.

She likely knows there was no attempt to rid Defense Department websites of recognition of the Enola Gay’s role in ending WWII. Rather, in the Trump administration’s effort to rid government websites of DEI garbage, the Enola Gay was accidentally swept up by an overbroad content-flagging algorithm not overseen by manual review.

Surely, Cassidy knows that, and yet she played this political dishonesty game anyway in order that she could play the martyr: “You can fish for Cassidy all day every day baby, but when you come for kids, you’re going to catch the car and get dragged.”

Yeah, that’s Cassidy, the selfless sacrificial lamb.

Cassidy isn’t merely wrong in her ethics and moral claims. Collegial Cassidy—the lawmaker who fought like the devil to legalize human slaughter from conception to birth for any or no reason and who now fights like the devil to keep children in bondage to delusion—is evil.
