Just three weeks ago, National Education Association President Becky Pringle delivered one of her signature, unlistenable speeches in which she tries to mimic (also known as “appropriate”) a Pentecostal preacher but manages only to deliver ear-shredding inauthenticity.
And then on July 22, the unfortunate 88th Convention of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) kicked off, concluding with a keynote speech from lesbian Randi Weingarten, president of the AFT, which is a de facto arm of the DNC—the propaganda arm.
Before Weingarten spoke, the president of the Texas American Federation of Teachers, homosexual Zeph Capo, spoke and then introduced lesbian activist Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum—Randi Weingarten’s “wife”—who offered a “blessing.”
When Weingarten took the stage, she left blathered on leftist talking points with no evident awareness of her own hypocrisy.
She accused conservatives of “capitalizing on fear to stoke division … and dismantle our democracy—all to cement their power,” and she accused the “Supreme Court’s extremist majority” of “rewriting the Constitution in terrifying ways.”
How exactly has the Constitution—which leftists believe is a living, breathing, bendy, squishy document written in disappearing ink—being rewritten? Surely, she’s not referring to the overturning of Roe v. Wade—a decision so poorly argued that countless leftist legal scholars derided it, saying it had no basis in the text or history of the Constitution.
As for Supreme Court extremism and “dismantling democracy,” which side wants to pack the Supreme Court, and which side just forcibly dumped their duly chosen, fit-as-a-fiddle presidential candidate because of bad poll numbers?
Which side of the political divide has fomented racial division via racist ideas derived from a controversial legal theory?
Weingarten celebrated that “In three years, 946,000 public service workers have had $69 billion in loans forgiven. Our members have saved an average of $60,000.” Forbes explains what the uber-wealthy Weingarten omitted:
Canceling federal student loans will cost the federal government hundreds of billions of dollars— and the general public will eventually end up footing the bill. … Canceled federal student loans would be immediately added to the federal deficit. … Analysts agree that canceling federal student loans would increase the deficit.
Weingarten has a very curious background in teaching—and by curious, I mean close to no teaching experience whatsoever. And yet, through a convoluted union-driven scheme, New York taxpayers are on the hook to pay her more than $200,000 in pension benefits. That is in addition to her annual union compensation of over $540,000.
Weingarten took umbrage that “Mike Pompeo tried to vilify us … claiming that America’s school teachers teach ‘filth.’” To leftists who have no sexual taboos and no boundaries between that which is appropriate and that which is inappropriate, words like “filth” have no meaning. Illustrations of two people having sex with a strap-on dildo or a graphic description of boys sodomizing each other can’t be filthy to people for whom filth does not exist.
In a clear reference to conservatives who want to keep obscene material out of the hands of minors, Weingarten refers to those who “have banned books.” It’s noteworthy that Weingarten doesn’t seem to understand what parents are doing. They aren’t banning books. They are demanding that obscene material not be presented to minor children in public schools.
No word from Weingarten on leftists preventing books from being published, reviewed, purchased, and taught, while hiding behind “collection development policies.”
No word about why there are no picture books, YA novels, or curricular resources that show the dark side of homosexuality and cross-sex medical experimentation on minors, or about detransitioner regrets. No word from Weingarten on the bowdlerization of books by leftists. And no word from Weingarten on the Newspeakian language rules by leftists that include banning the use of correct pronouns, “gendered” language, and a whole host of other words.
What Weingarten most wants is to maintain the flow of public money into the slop troughs of public schools. She hates the idea of privatizing education. She hates vouchers and school choice. And she directs much of her ire at Christopher Rufo and Betsy DeVos:
Operatives like Christopher Rufo, who work on behalf of billionaires like Betsy DeVos, openly admit their scheme—to create distrust in public education and in their political enemies so they can enact their extremist agenda.
While Rufo has been very helpful in exposing malfeasance in government schools, it was leftist teachers, local school boards, state boards of education, lawmakers, and politically partisan teachers unions who are responsible for creating distrust of public education. It is leftists working in public education who have had an extremist agenda for over half a century. Finally, parents have seen enough and had enough.
Forcing all Americans to subsidize leftist controlled government schools empties their pockets of the money they need to choose how and where their children are educated. The childless Weingarten (whose “stepchildren” were adults when she “married” their mother), wants women to have the freedom to choose to kill their offspring but not the freedom to choose where to educate them.
Weingarten is an apparatchik of the Democrat Party. She seeks to maintain a monopoly on propagandizing future generations of Americans using taxpayer funds in order to cement her party’s political and cultural power. The Department of Education should be abolished and the public school monopoly broken up.
