Jeanne’s Top 10 Sites Dems Should Visit During the DNC

DNC IN CHICAGO – SPECIAL EDITION DEMOCRAT VALUES ON FULL DISPLAY
The message above was posted to X.

What are they expecting at the DNC? Apparently, lots of unprotected sex or the need to finally get that vasectomy the guys have been waiting for.

I guess it is same-day surgery, so they can have the procedure in the morning and be out in time for the Prime-Time Speeches.

This has all the markings of a JB Pritzker Big Idea, and no doubt his Think Big PAC is funding all of this. When they show you who they really are, believe them.

Next Up – Best Places for Democrats to Visit

There’s no place like Chicago! Great architecture, great American food or food from any place in the world, great museums, and a great lakefront all await visitors to Chicago. It truly is a world-class city. Theater, music, sports, art, gambling – there’s no lack of entertainment. Hopefully, the Democrats, who know how to spend other people’s money with no thought, will spend big while in Chicago during their national convention.

Any way that Democrats can help Democrat Chicago, the holy land of Democrat policies, out of its fiscal mess would be appreciated. Chicago needs every sales tax dollar it can get – as they already bonded out their sales tax revenue. And, they are a “sinkhole” city, ranking 74th out of 75 cities evaluated by Truth in Accounting. According to TIA’s 2024 report, every Chicago taxpayer would need to pay $42,900 to pay off Chicago’s debt, which is over $51 billion, on an annual revenue of $13 billion. Their city pensions are funded at only 22%. So, please, Democrats, spend big in Chicago, where the sales tax rate is 10.25%, and don’t forget to visit the pot shops where sales taxes can exceed 30% on some products.

But since Democrats are here for the politicians and politicians make policy, there are a number of places Democrats should visit to see the fruits of their policy decisions.

Here is a list of suggested places that Democrats should visit.

This list is in no particular order and in no way represents the myriad of other places Democrats could visit to see their policies in action.

1.    Wells Community Academy High School – 1.6 miles from United Center. Showcase Democrat school success. Now that former CPS employee Brandon Johnson is Mayor of Chicago, he can show off CPS’s results. At Wells HS, 1% of the students are at grade level in English Language Arts, and 0% of students are at grade level in Math. This school illustrates Democratic values, as CPS has been controlled by Democrats forever. Johnson should include in his presentation that per pupil spending is $30,000.If asked about the low scores (is this even a school?), he can refer them to CTU President Stacy Davis Gates’ recent comment on low test scores. In it she essentially said that black students are testing poorly because the system is based on “junk science rooted in white supremacy”. WSJ had a top editorial about it. He should also then ask Davis Gates to let people tour the private school that her son attends.

2.   Sunnyside Cannabis Dispensary – 13-minute drive from United Center. Lt. Gov. Julianna Stratton can lead the tour since she was first in line to get her pot here right after the law went into effect on January 2, 2020.

3.   Shuttered Walmart —10 minutes away from United Center in Little Village, one of the four Walmarts that closed last year. Walmart said in its closing announcement that the stores lost tens of millions each year and hadn’t turned a profit since first opening 17 years ago. Likely causes of unprofitability were high property taxes, losses due to theft, and higher employee costs, including minimum wage, unemployment insurance, and work comp. Perhaps VP Harris can explain if Walmart is one of those nasty corporations that is price-gouging consumers. This site visit should include a discussion of Mayor Johnson’s latest Democrat socialist program – building city-owned grocery stores – owned and operated by the city. What could go wrong?

4.   2300 W Jackson Blvd – within walking distance of the United Center7-year-old Jai’mani Amir Rivera was shot in the chest as he left his home. He was headed to visit a neighbor, and when he reached the sidewalk, someone started shooting and hit him. The visit should happen at 3 pm, the same time Rivera was murdered. He is one of 336 shot to death so far this year. He lived in the most deadly neighborhood in Chicago. The alleged killer is 16.

5.   Standard Club Chicago– 8 minutes from the United Center, former hotel used for illegal migrant housing. Hundreds of millions have been spent on supporting about 45,000 illegal aliens who have arrived in Chicago over the last two years. If a spreadsheet of costs is handed out, Illinois and Chicago taxpayers would like a copy.

6.   Tremont Hotel – Ahead of the DNC, Johnson moved homeless people previously encamped in a tent city by the Dan Ryan Expressway into 60 of the former hotel rooms. They are expected to be moved out shortly after the DNC ends. Is this how Democrats solve the homeless problem?

7.   Historical Monuments Tour – Four years ago, former Mayor Lightfoot called for a task force to look at all historic monuments in the city to determine if they represented Chicago values. The report called for the abolition of a number of monuments and changes to many as well. DNC visitors should consider visiting all the Lincoln statues before changes are made. According to news reports. “The city’s collection of Lincoln monuments that are up for further review include the Standing Lincoln, Seated Lincoln, Lincoln Rail Splitter and Young Lincoln statues.” The empty Columbus Statue site is a must-see! It is where police were ruthlessly attacked by a mob intent on taking the statue down. Lightfoot took it down instead in the dark of the night and has not yet been returned to its place.

8.   Citadel Center at 131 S. Dearborn St. – 9 minutes from United Center. JB Pritzker should be the tour leader here. He can explain why Illinois’ wealthiest man left the city he built his business in and moved to Miami.

9.   Cook County States Attorney Office – home of George Soros prosecutor Kim Foxx. For Democrats fighting against MAGA Republicans, Foxx can explain the Jussie Smollet case and his chances of overturning his conviction in the Democrat-controlled IL Supreme Court – yes, Jussie has appealed all the way to the top. Foxx can then ask Harris to join her in discussing the case of Jan Torres-Roman, 21, reported by CWB Chicago(excerpts below):

Cook County prosecutors charged Torres-Roman with felony unlawful use of a weapon after Chicago cops responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 5100 block of South Indiana on May 5. Prosecutors did not ask Judge Kelly to detain Torres-Roman as either a threat to public safety or a willful flight risk, so the judge cut him loose and told him to show up for court on May 13. Torres-Roman has not been seen since. At least not by law enforcement officials around here.

But authorities in other parts of the country have not been so fortunate.

On June 24, eight armed men raided the family-operated Joyeria El Ruby jewelry store in Denver. Several of the men hopped the counter and stuffed the store’s jewelry into bags while another held customers on the floor at gunpoint, KDVR reported.

“They pinned my mom to the floor and hit her in the back of the head three times with a gun, then they hit my cousin,” one of the owners told the outlet.

Torres-Roman is a “member of Venezuela’s notorious Tren de Aragua gang,” the Post reported Friday. President Joe Biden’s administration pegged the gang as a transnational criminal organization and put out a $12 million bounty on its leaders.

Federal authorities have opened more than 100 investigations related to the gang, according to NBC.

Torres-Roman entered the United States illegally in September 2023. Federal immigration authorities “lodged a detainer, informing local law enforcement that it planned to take him into custody,” the Post reported, but Torres-Roman was released by officials here.

10. Any Residential Property – For a real look at Democrat values, visit South Cook County and ask any resident how much they spend on property taxes. As noted in previous newsletters, Illinois has the 2nd highest property taxes in the nation, and in South Cook County, many pay over 4 times more than the average in other states for a similar property. Kamala’s plan to give $25,000 to first-time home buyers will barely pay for two years of property taxes on modest homes in the south suburbs – and elsewhere.

Chicago is the perfect place to showcase Democratic values. Let’s hope the media picks up on some of the irony. A clever reporter would anticipate a line in a speech and then show the reality of that policy in Chicago.
