By now the entire nation, if not the world, knows about the horrific act of savagery committed in Chicago on November 17, 2025 against a young innocent woman—a crime disturbingly similar to the crime committed against Iryna Zarutska, another young white woman savagely murdered on a North Carolina train by a black man just three months ago.
Lawrence Reed, a 50-year-old black man who has been arrested and set free (by leftists?) 72 times since he was 18 years old, illegally purchased gasoline thirty minutes before boarding Chicago’s CTA Blue Line train, following which he doused Bethany Magee, a 26-year-old white woman, with his purchase and lit her on fire, burning her over 60 percent of her body, including her face.
While taking him into custody the following day, police officers report that he said, “Burn alive, bitch.” Could the anti-white racism promoted ceaselessly by devoted CRT disciples for years contribute to such black-on-white crimes?
The Chicago Tribune reports that a “pretrial monitoring report filed Thursday stated that Reed had violated the terms of his release five times between Nov. 9 and the day of the alleged attack.”
According to the New York Post,
Reed has 22 prior arrests since 2016 alone and 53 criminal cases in Cook County dating back to 1993 — nine of them felonies for which he pleaded guilty. …
But Cook County Judge Teresa Molina-Gonzalez freed Reed on a felony aggravated battery charge for slapping a social worker so hard that she was knocked out during an Aug. 19 assault inside the psychiatric ward of the MacNeal Hospital, court records show.
A judge let Reed walk free with an ankle monitor despite the prosecution’s request to keep him behind bars.
In August, a Cook County prosecutor requested that Reed be detained, to which Judge Teresa Molina-Gonzalez, a purported DEI hire, responded, “I can’t keep everybody in jail because the state’s attorney wants me to.”
The prosecutor wasn’t asking that every criminal be detained. The prosecutor was asking that a dangerous, mentally ill, recidivist criminal who posed a clear and present danger to the public be detained. If Lawrence Reed is unworthy of detention, who the heck would be?
About her prior career as a prosecutor, Molina-Gonzalez said,
You know, being a Latina in the office, people would tell me, like uh, “Don’t you feel like you’re prosecuting your own people?” It’s true, there were a lot of defendants that look like me. However, I had a chance as a prosecutor to make a difference as to what cases come in. I had a chance as a prosecutor to decide what offers were appropriate.
Doesn’t sound like color-blind justice to me. Sounds a lot like institutional racism.
The chief goal of publicly funded law enforcement since its creation in the mid-1800s has been to ensure public order and protect the safety of law-abiding citizens. No longer, at least not when Democrats are in charge.
In 2021, Illinois Democrats passed a partisan bill titled the Safe-T Act that made more likely the unspeakable act committed against Bethany Magee. Here is what I wrote at the time:
Leftists, practiced at the art of deception, do not care about anyone who lives in America. They care about one thing: acquiring and maintaining power at all costs. And they think catering to criminals will achieve that goal.
Case in point the in-credibly—as in not credibly–named Safe-T Act (Safety Accountability Fairness and Equity-Today), which passed Illinois’ irresponsible, far-leftist General Assembly and was signed into law by Governor J.B. Pritzker on Feb. 22, 2021. The most controversial provision … is just now receiving its justly deserved, overdue public outcry.
The controversial provision makes Illinois the first state in the country to abolish cash bail for a number of crimes that put at risk Illinoisans’ safety and public order. In the service of “equity”—which in the leftist Upside Down has nothing to do with fairness—leftists are again making the streets more dangerous. Let’s call the law the Safety for Criminals Act. …
[L]eftists don’t speak the quiet parts out loud. Those cunning vipers have forked tongues and know how to use them.
So instead, they tell victims of crime that “equity” demands they abolish cash bail for arrestees suspected of kidnapping, armed robbery, second-degree murder, drug-induced homicide, and aggravated DUI. It’s inequitable, unjust, and unfair for impoverished suspected criminals to languish in jail while other suspected criminals are able to roam free. Equity demands that all suspected criminals roam free while awaiting trial and sentencing—or so the vipers hiss.
And when these suspected criminals are free, where do the vipers suspect they’ll go to wreak mayhem? It’s likely not Hinsdale, Inverness, or Lake Forest that will be victimized. …
The cynical Democrat jig is up or almost up. Voters in dangerous communities increasingly recognize that it is leftist policies and laws that have made their neighborhoods dangerous and unlivable. They know that it was Democrats who made their neighborhoods far more dangerous when they called for defunding the police. They no longer want leaders who will … pass policies and laws that make their neighborhoods more dangerous.
What’s worse for leftists is that increasing numbers of voters of color in crime-ridden neighborhoods understand that they are pawns and victims of power-ravenous leftist fear- and race-mongers. Voters of color realize they are being exploited and harmed for their votes. They can see the racist hearts beating in the chests of leftist leaders like J.B. Pritzker.
When will Chicagoans rise up and take to the streets demanding that Illinois Democrats say her name: Bethany Magee, the white woman lit on fire by a black man with a long criminal history who was set free to roam Chicago streets by a brown woman in a state controlled by Democrats, including J.B. Pritzker who wants to do to America what he’s done to Illinois.
Doesn’t quite fit the “narrative” leftists like to tell now, does it?
