The Authentic Fauci Revealed

The heretofore voluble Anthony Fauci had nuttin’ to say during the dramatic U.S. Senate hearing on COVID-19, well, except for calling Senator Rand Paul obsessed and unhinged. Fauci, the COVID goblin who was obsessed with his own image and unhinged about covering up truth, used his opening statement to hurl epithets at Sen. Paul. But after his opening screed, Fauci clammed up, invoking Fifth Amendment protections against self-incrimination 111 times in three hours. I wonder, was his silence violence?

Republican senators inveighed against Fauci’s venality, his vanity, and his grotesque disregard for the sanctity of human life.

Senator Josh Hawley confronted Fauci with his self-enrichment and illegal use of government resources and employees to pursue financial gain.

Senators Rand Paul and Bernie Moreno reminded Fauci and all of America about the human costs of his “scientific” proclamations: young children socially, emotionally, and developmentally damaged by school closures; small businesses forever closed; jobs lost; citizens arrested; elderly people dying alone, scared, and suffering.

Senator Joni Ernst revealed the unspeakable research funded by the U.S. government under Fauci and performed by University of Pittsburgh mad scientists in which they scalped 18-20-week human fetuses and then grafted their scalps onto lab mice. The study was titled “Development of humanized mouse and rat models with full-thickness human skin and autologous immune cells.”

The hearing revealed the real—or as leftists are fond of saying—“authentic” Anthony Fauci. As it turns out, he’s not actually the saint to whom celebrities and other leftists genuflect. He is a self-serving egotistical serpent who will do anything or say nothing in order to protect himself.

Americans learned in the hearing what they should have learned in school from Greek playwrights, Shakespeare, and the Bible. In Fauci, we see the hubris of Oedipus, unwillingness to admit error of Creon, and the self-important windbaggery of Shakespeare’s Polonius. In Fauci, we see the prideful man about whom God warns, “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” If Fauci spent a wee bit less time thinking about what celebrities say and more time thinking about what the Good Book says, he might have known that “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” In pleading the Fifth, sneaky Fauci missed an opportunity for redemption.

TMZ founder Harvey Levin used his platform to feebly acknowledge that maybe the CDC under Fauci’s control didn’t do a bang-up job of responding to COVID, but, in Levin’s view, Fauci et al. were just being “overprotective”:

I have problems with the way the CDC handled COVID. I think that they did damage to children,  to adults, and I don’t think they did it maliciously. I think they did it because they were using their judgment and were overprotective and I think at times overstated things, things they said they knew but really didn’t. And I have personal problems with the way that COVID was handled.

No one that I’ve heard has accused Fauci and his CDC of being motivated by malice. He’s been accused of using his position and influence to acquire money and fame. He’s been accused of proclaiming his diktats were the fruits of proven and objective science. He has been accused of having an outsized ego as demonstrated by his claim that he is science and truth. And he has been accused of concealing inconvenient truths about masking, social distancing, lockdowns, and vaccine safety and efficacy.

No, Americans haven’t accused him of being motivated by malice. They accuse Fauci of being motivated by pride, vanity, dishonesty, and cowardice.

According to Levin, the more serious problem is not what Fauci has done but Senate Republicans’ failure to see how “amazing” his personal hero is:

Anthony Fauci over a period of decades has been an amazing public servant. In the 80s, I had many friends who died of AIDS, a horrible, painful death. And I had friends who lived because of Anthony Fauci, because he was willing to look at experimental drugs in a different way than they had looked at them before. … And he has done so many other things in his career to thwart epidemics to save lives not just in the United States but all over the world.

Levin, a homosexual, cares more about his homosexual friends who contracted AIDS through perverse volitional sexual acts than he does about those who died from COVID—an illness created in a lab that Fauci helped subsidize.

Here are some relevant stats for the self-absorbed Levin: Deaths from AIDS in the United States, which could have been prevented by not engaging in perverse and promiscuous sex, numbered 319,849 over the 14.5 years between the start of the AIDs epidemic in 1981 until the discovery of antiretroviral therapy in 1996.

Deaths from COVID in the United States, which was created in a lab in Wuhan, China that Fauci helped finance, numbered 1,091,715 in three years between Jan. 2020 and December 2022.

Whatever good Fauci did earlier in his career is dwarfed by the evil he committed by funding gain-of-function research, by conspiring to conceal the COVID origins and his connection to it, and by his draconian recommendations for dealing with the pandemic.

With no note of irony, leftist Levin asserted that the hearing was Red Scary:

We are at a point where members of Congress and yes you, Rand Paul, are on a witch hunt. … Paul … has said now over a period of years, he wants Anthony Fauci in a jail cell. … We are in Senator Joseph McCarthy territory.

Sen. Paul is far from the only American who wants Fauci in a jail cell.

Coming from a leftist, Levin’s witch hunt fear is almost comical. Leftists have gone after President Trump hammer, tong, and lawfare, using every unethical and corrupt means they could get their grimy hands on from multiple impeachments to multiple bogus criminal cases to multiple bogus civil cases.

Fauci incalculably harmed countless people, destroyed his own legacy, and undermined trust in both scientific research and government institutions. He did that by indulging his fallen impulses, concealing his wrongdoing, refusing to confess publicly all that he has done, and refusing to manfully accept the consequences of his wrongdoing.

Fauci’s story is the story of morally untethered decision-making, selfishness, pride, and a cowardly refusal to admit error. Fauci’s story should serve as a warning to all people and especially leaders that to whom much is given, much is required.
