Illinois’ worst lawmaker, lesbian State Representative Kelly Cassidy, is at it again. And by “it,” I mean, obsessively creating and sponsoring legislation that reflects and promotes her deviant views of sexuality and family. I doubt Cassidy could craft legislation that contributes to the public good if her life depended on it.
In her newest bill, HB 5473, Cassidy once again ignores the needs of children and the rights of parents. If passed, HB 5473, would amend the Illinois Public Aid Code by allowing minor children between the ages of 12-18 to “sign and file an application on the minor’s own behalf” in order to access “the Article V family planning program enacted by Public Act 102-665.”
Inquiring minds may want to know exactly what Illinois’ sexuality busybody Cassidy wants other people’s 12-year-olds to access without their parents’ knowledge or permission. The Article V family planning program provides these goods and services:
· All FDA-approved methods of contraception
· Permanent methods of birth control, such as tubal ligation or vasectomy
· Cervical cancer screening
· Testing, treatment, and vaccines for reproductive health
· Transportation for family planning visits
· HPV and HIV testing
· STD/STI testing and treatment
Leftists have no respect for the nuclear family, particularly nuclear families who hold conservative worldviews. Daily we see efforts to separate children from their parents if those parents hold conservative (sane) views on “gender,” sex, or the intrinsic rights of the unborn.
Leftists believe school employees should be required to facilitate “gender-transitioning” at school and be required to keep secrets from parents about their children’s “gender identity.”
Leftists believe minors should have access to risky biological-sex rejecting “treatments” (also known deceitfully as “gender affirming” treatments) without their parents’ knowledge or consent.
Leftists believe 12-year-old girls should have access to birth control pills, abortion pills, and HPV vaccines without their parents’ knowledge or consent.
All that in addition to mandating the inclusion of obscene literature in school curricula and libraries and exposing minors to all manner of inappropriate material through “comprehensive sex ed.”
Leftists use every institution at their disposal to inculcate in children the ways of deviant adult sexuality and then usurp the right of parents to determine how to mitigate the suffering caused by leftist ideas. Who profits from this scheme? Someone does, and it’s not children.
The presumptuous Cassidy has arrogated to herself the “right” to circumscribe the parental rights of every Illinois parent. She presumes that her perverse beliefs on “gender” and sexuality should determine how other parents raise their children.
Cassidy’s bill has been assigned to the Human Services Committee which is holding its first hearing on March 21, 2024. Already, Planned Parenthood and the National Organization for Women have signed witness slips in favor of the bill. Like Cassidy, these anti-life, anti-child, anti-women, and anti-family organizations favor any bill that will advance unhealthy sexuality, undermine the integrity of the nuclear family, and destroy lives.
