Will  Eileen O’Neill Burke Get Frank DiFranco’ed

In the race between Eileen O’Neill Burke and Clayton Harris in the Democrat Primary for Cook County State’s Attorney here are the vote tally differences as reported from various news outlets:

Election Night – Burke up over 9,000 votes

March 20 – Burke up 8,800 votes

March 21 – Burke up 8,152 votes

March 22 – Burke up about 6,800 votes

March 23 – Burke up 4.771 votes

March 24 – Burke up 2,015 votes

In Illinois, vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked by or on election day in order to be counted. But the counting continues for two weeks after election day. This year that’s April 2nd. The mail may be slow, but it’s not that slow, so most VBM was expected to be in and processed by Saturday.

NBC 5 reported that Chicago Board of Election suggested that they would be “close to finished with counting mail-in ballots on Saturday.”

That would make sense. But, this is Chicago and Illinois, where when it comes to counting ballots nothing makes sense and nothing adds up. That’s why it becomes even more suspicious when the Max Beaver, the spokesman for the Chicago Board of Elections, says they just found up to 11,000 ballots that they didn’t report having.

Why does that always seem to happen? Seriously, your entire job is to know where every ballot is that you received and oops- you forgot about that cabinet full of ballots that came in the mail the other day. C’mon Man.

Chicago Tribune reported on the issue saying this:

“City election officials also announced Saturday there was another influx of roughly 10,000 to 11,000 ballots, both Democratic and Republican, that will be counted on Sunday. That volume is unexpected given previous estimates of returned ballots from the Chicago Board of Elections. It reflects ballots that were received at the board via mail late Monday but not included in previously reported totals.

Max Bever, spokesman with the Chicago Board of Elections, took responsibility for mistakenly leaving out additional ballots that had been received via the mail on Monday, the day before Election Day. Those ballots have been under lock and key at the board’s headquarters since Monday at 69 W. Washington, he said.”

I am not saying these aren’t valid ballots. I am saying that no one should trust these people with securing ballots or counting correctly.  What you are seeing here are sloppy processes that invite suspicion – and rightly so.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say this isn’t the last incorrect tally, anomaly, or inconsistency we will see in this race.

Now is a good time to remind people of how Frank DiFranco’s lead in 2020 evaporated even after the 14 days of counting was officially over and he was in the lead. Five days later, on day 19, the machine kept counting votes and declared his Democrat opponent the winner. DiFranco sued and in October a state appeals court ruled against his appeal to overturn the election. Read about that ruling HERE. The last time I spoke to DiFranco’s friends, his next step was to sue in federal court once he got stopped in state court.

Everyone needs to know what happened in the DiFranco case. Even if you have already read this synopsis, please read it again, so you know how the Machine operates.

This synopsis was written by Char Foss-Eggeman, former Maine Township Republican Committeewoman and former Vice-Chairman of the Illinois Republican Party.

Mr. DiFranco, a successful suburban attorney, ran for Cook County Judge as a Republican in the November 3, 2020, General Election. Mr. DiFranco led his opponent, Democrat Patricia Fallon, by 10,439 votes on election night. However, Cook County continues to count MIBs received for an additional two weeks before certifying the election.

This is a cautionary tale to Eileen O’Neill Burke and her supporters – it’s not over until Karen Yarbrough says it’s over.
