There’s a story emerging from my hometown, specifically from the middle school I and all my kids attended. It’s a story of idiocy, arrogance, and cowardice.
A courageous mother of a thirteen-year-old girl who attends Alan B. Shepard Middle School in Deerfield, Illinois spoke at a school board meeting this week about three female administrators who allegedly tried to make her daughter change clothes in the presence of a gender-dysphoric male peer who pretends to be a girl.

The meeting was remarkable in several ways.
First, the courage of the mother Nicole Georgas was remarkable.
Second, the meeting was remarkable because the room was filled with mentally and morally unhealthy leftists, most, apparently, from outside the community. When conservatives from outside a community show up at school board meetings, they are scorned as interlopers. Not so much when it’s leftist activists.
Finally, it was remarkable because no one—not one community member—spoke up in support of Georgas and in opposition to policies and practices that seek to force minors to undress in front of persons of the opposite sex.
Every father in Deerfield should have been there and spoken up. Why weren’t they? Are they so thoroughly emasculated that they no longer protect even their own daughters? Are they too worried about their reputations? Do they actually believe that biological sex has no meaning relative to undressing?
Here is an excerpt from Nicole Georgas’ outstanding statement:
My 13-year-old daughter’s well-being and mental health and privacy is at stake. This nightmare began on February 5th when my daughter was using the girl’s bathroom and was stunned that a biological male student was using it as well. She came home frightened and was extremely upset. I asked her to talk with her teachers and find out more information. She was told by the administration that a student can use the bathroom as well as a female locker room because they now identify as female.
I sent an email to the teachers involved and received a call from Principal Wegley. He verbally reiterated that under Joanna Ford’s direction and their legal counsel that the student could use both the locker room and bathroom. I expressed that the school was in clear violation of federal policy. The Trump Administration issued an executive order restricting biological males from participating in sports and accessing female locker rooms.
That day, I filed a civil rights complaint on behalf of my daughter with the Department of Justice. It has now been referred to the Department of Education. A federal complaint has been filed with the district to protect the students.
The situation went from bad to worse a few days later. The male student was present in the girls’ locker room. Feeling violated, the girls made the choice to not change into their P.E. clothes with a biological male student present. The next day Assistant Principal Cathy Van Treese pulled the girls into her office, questioning them. The same day Assistant Superintendent Joanna Ford, Cathy Van Treese, and multiple teachers all came into the girls’ locker room, making them change into uniform. This went on all week with the addition of Ginger Logemann. My daughter refused to take part in having her privacy being violated. How dare they?
She ran out and called for me for help. Principal Wegley … was offering my daughter a new P.E. class. The answer was no. She is not changing … into another class. The girls just want their privacy, and they want their locker room back. There are gender neutral options.
This is my daughter’s story and the story of many other young girls who have been forced at the difficult age to do something they know, and most adults know, is wrong.
In addition to Georgas, three bearded ladies who masquerade as men spoke: “Oliver” Vondran, a lesbian who pretends to be a man and is married to a woman; Kerrick Goodman-Lucker, whose partner is also a bearded lady; and “Charlee” Friedman, “parent of a trans middle schooler” and the director of operations for Trans Up front, which issued a call for trannies to attend the school board meeting.
In her comments, Friedman pointed straight at one of the worst offenders against the rights of women in Illinois: J. B. Pritzker. Friedman said her child was standing right next to Pritzker in 2019 when he signed an executive order declaring the intrinsic rights of women in private spaces and sports would be null and void.

Pictured above is Kristal Larson, taken from an X post.
Other speakers were “Kristal” Larson, a burly crossdressing man in a black mini-dress who heads up the LGBTQ+ Center Lake County; a “queer student with a queer sibling and multiple queer friends,” the mother of a seventeen-year-old girl who pretends to be a boy; a thirty-something lesbian; and Jesse Holzman who describes herself on Instagram as a “Queer, Non-binary, Consensually Non-monogamous, Intersectional Feminist, Anti-Racist, Activist.”
This motley crew spouted the same old leftist claptrap that Americans have heard ad nauseum for years.
An arrogant leftist Deerfield father, David Weisberger, also spoke, accusing Georgas of “fearmongering” and then making this astonishing and deceitful claim:
Let’s be clear about what’s happening. The claim that girls were forced to change in front of a boy isn’t just misleading, it’s a deliberate misrepresentation. What they’re talking about, who they’re talking about is a girl, a transgender girl. But instead of acknowledging her for who she is they’re framing her identity in a way designed to provoke outrage.
Let’s actually be clear about what’s happening.
In reality, where many Americans live and move and have their being, the student at the center of this mess is a boy—a biological male who is not a girl and can never become a girl. Leftists like Weisberger try to muddy the rhetorical waters by saying the boy is a “transgirl.” Well, a “transgirl” is a boy. Those who live in reality have no obligation to frame this boy’s “identity” in a false and harmful way.
It is adults like Weisberger and Shepard administrators that are provoking outrage by denying the scientific reality and ontological meaning of biological sex. It is they who provoke outrage by pretending that undressing in front of people of the opposite sex is meaningless.
If biological sex has no meaning relative to undressing or engaging in other intimate bodily experiences, why have any sex-segregated private spaces for anyone anywhere?
Are Assistant Superintendent for Student Services Joanna Ford, Assistant Principal Cathy Van Treese, and Director for Student Services Ginger Logemann—the administrators who allegedly attempted to make Georgas’ daughter undress in front of a male peer—willing to undress in front of Superintendent Mike Simeck or Shepard Principal Robert Wegley?
Do girls and women have a right to be free of the presence of boys and men when undressing? If so, why would a boy’s or man’s subjective feelings about his sex abrogate that right?
Do these women know the truth—that biological sex is real and matters—but they’re too cowardly to act with integrity by protecting young girls?
Of the many noxious, ignorant, arrogant comments, the worst came from Tina Nelson (Hers is a creepy must-see performance from 1:08:10 – 1:10:30) “a member of the LGBTQ community.” With a weird, menacing expression, Nelson glared at the courageous mother instead of the school board and said slowly,
Thank you to the board for prioritizing the safety of the student that’s been targeted by an organization that weaponizes religion to push the white supremacist agenda of their cis white husbands. … Targeting a middle school student because of your white god …
At this point, a school board member interrupted Nelson and her menacing glaring to politely instruct her to direct her comments to the board.
Nelson continued,
Children that are raised by those who hate, vilify, and fearmonger will hate, vilify, and fear-monger their peers. So, education is super important, sex education is super important.”
Then following two long, awkward pauses, Nelson concluded, once again glaring menacingly at the mother,
I’m just I’m really grateful to see how full this room is of support for this kid instead of the petty women that target him.
Nelson inadvertently acknowledged the truth when she referred to the boy at the center of the controversy as “him.” Yep, he’s a boy—not a girl. Never was a girl, never will be.
Apparently Nelson didn’t notice that she was vilifying a middle school student, implicitly accusing Georgas’ daughter of being hateful for not wanting to undress in front of a male peer.
Nelson makes clear the reason leftists desperately want all kids in leftist sex ed programs. They want everyone’s children indoctrinated with leftist assumptions about sex and “gender.”
The issue of female safety is at the forefront of all discussions of sex-based private spaces, but the possibility of predation is not the only concern with regard to crossdressing persons in private spaces intended for opposite-sex persons.
Foundationally, the issue pertains to whether physical embodiment as male or female has meaning, particularly relative to feelings of modesty and the desire for privacy with regard to intimate bodily activities.
Many people believe it does have meaning, which is why men too have a right to be free of the presence of objectively female persons—aka women—in their private spaces.
It is true that girls and women have an additional and serious burden of being vulnerable to predation, but the foundational issue is not predation. The foundational issue is that biological sex—unlike, for example, eye color—has meaning.
Cross-sex-impersonating persons believe all that matters when sharing private spaces are one’s subjective, internal feelings about one’s maleness or femaleness.
Others believe all that matters is one’s objective, immutable biological sex, which has intrinsic, deep meaning that must be recognized and respected in relevant contexts.
It’s absurd to claim that subjective feelings about maleness or femaleness supersede in importance actual maleness or femaleness.
Let’s see if any courageous Deerfield community members and District 109 administrators come alongside Nicole Georgas to protect girls and truth.
