The picture and quote was taken from Syed’s Facebook.
She honors Women’s History Month when her Muslim religion doesn’t honor women.
Syed is a current state rep now running for state senate against Darby Hills. Like most politicians, she speaks out of both sides of her mouth. She got elected to the House by relentlessly knocking on doors – her hard work paid off in 2022 when she first got elected in a district centered around Palatine. The district is somewhat fiscally conservative and was previously represented by Republican Tom Morrison and then Republican Chris Bos. After 2022, when the district was further gerrymandered, Bos lost to Syed.
Syed is not a fiscal conservative, though, and even the Chicago Tribune called her out for trying to have it both ways. Here is part of what they said about Syed in their editorial endorsing Republican Darby Hills for that seat:
“Syed tells us she opposed the transit rescue legislation enacted in late 2025 because it included a “regressive” sales tax increase. Except she didn’t oppose it, at least on the floor of the House. As Hills points out to us, Syed didn’t vote on the package. For something so consequential to her constituents, Syed can’t have it both ways. She should have voted no if that was her position.”
Syed couldn’t vote for the toll increase and CTA bailout because she is running for a state senate seat in a fiscally minded area that now includes Barrington. But she couldn’t vote against it because her funding comes from the unions and the Democrat party, which is also funded by the unions.
Syed is 27, first elected when she was 23. She went from college at the University of California, Berkeley, to running for office and, for a short while in between, “worked as a digital strategist for a non-profit supporting their civic engagement efforts” (from her official bio).
Do you think she has the background to make decisions on your business?
She’s Muslim. Okay – but one of the groups supporting her is NAKASEC Action Fund. That group is radically progressive. Here is a screenshot of their front page on their website.

And then below the photo is this”
By 2040, one in every ten Americans will be Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI)… but our communities are consistently excluded from social, political and economic institutions. We seek to ignite and grow our community power by engaging, organizing, and mobilizing together to move forward narratives and policies that benefit all marginalized communities. We are building towards a world where everyone has essential human rights including high quality food, housing, education, healthcare, transportation, communication, and live in safe and thriving communities.
This is not a group wanting to assimilate around America’s founding principles. It is a group that wants to turn America into a socialist country and would be willing partners in a Red-Green Alliance.
Syed’s funding comes primarily from the Democrat Party and the unions – public sector unions are socialist, too. Their only goal is more funding for them.
Here is part of Syed’s A1 list from just October 15, 2026. (An A1 must be filed with the State Board of Elections upon receipt of a donation of $1,000 or more.)

Here is her part of her funding from July-September 2026

The Democrats badly want this seat. Voters will regret it if they take it.
Support Darby Hills.
