IN Crosses Goal Line On Bears Stadium While IL Dithers

Celebrating in the Streets of D.C

Protest graphic ready to go in Chicago

It didn’t take long for the activist organizations to have the pre-printed signs ready to protest President Trump’s military actions in Iran. But, from news reports around the country and around the world, the military action by the U.S. and Israel was greeted with cheers by Iranians and Jews alike.

For 444 days from November 4, 1970, until January 20, 1981, 52 American hostages were held in Iran when the radical Islamists took over the country of Iran and ousted the former Westernized leadership. Many will remember the daily report on the nightly news, counting the number of days in captivity. And now, after 47 years, the Iranian people have an opportunity to throw off the chains of oppression and enter once again into a pluralistic, Western governance that brings back their rich culture, which previously included respect for women and other religions.

President Trump released an 8-minute video to the American people explaining why he took action. He is hopeful for a limited engagement war and recognizes there is always a risk of American casualties. He is not pretending that this is just a simple drone strike on a terrorist. That video is linked HERE.

There are a couple of questions that people will debate for years to come. Trump acted on intelligence that Iran was close to having weapons-grade nuclear material, an untenable world threat to all. He calculated that the U.S., along with Israel, could use their overwhelming air power and U.S. sea power to take out the threat and let the Iranian people create a path to government reform.

An equally important conversation that should matter to Americans in the wake of this military action is what to do about activists who share the Iranian regime’s “Death to America” sentiment.

Remember – in Chicago at the Teamsters Headquarters in April 2024, ahead of the DNC, 300   radicals gathered, and protesters were taught how to say “Death to America” in Farsi.

Fox News reported at the time:

Earlier this month, Anti-War Committee Chicago organizer Shabbir Rizvi was filmed teaching a group of 80 activists in Chicago to chant “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” in Farsi. Rivzi has a troubling background when it comes to his documented support for Iran and anti-Israel views.

The Free Press first broke the story about Rizvi’s chants that occurred during a breakout session of an event in which 300 activists countrywide gathered to plan protests to disrupt the Democratic National Convention in August. The crowd reportedly burst into applause hours later when another activist shared the news that the Islamic Republic of Iran had attacked Israel, launching more than 300 bomb-bearing Shahed drones and ballistic missiles into its airspace.

In the video shown by the Free Press, Rivzi said that “marg barg” could either mean “death to, or down with,” while previously stating to laughter, “depending on who’s asking.”

In our country, our laws allow these opinions and these actions, but should we tolerate them? Should we elect radicals who would believe and support the chants of “Death to America?” These groups seek political power and prefer separation instead of assimilation.

  • NYC voters elected Mamdani, a Democrat-Socialist and former leader of Students for Justice in Palestine.
  • Texas officials are on alert to prevent the building of an all-Islamist-focused community
  • In Illinois, numerous NGOs, such as the Muslim Civic Coalition, exist to gain political power.

Protests in the streets aren’t just about whether or not President Trump’s actions are in accordance with the Constitution, something that Congress and the courts will sort out; they are also about support for radical Islamists and that theology which oppresses women.

People who emigrate to America and then are unwilling to take up our Judeo-Christian values and our founding principles based on natural rights that come from God must be held in check. Those in our country as student visitors and who are caught chanting Death to America should be sent back to their own country.

This week, the media and the legislatures in Indiana and Illinois were consumed with putting together legislation to support the building of a new stadium for the Chicago Bears.

Indiana acted first – no surprise – and on Thursday, after only a couple of weeks of work in the legislature, final passage of the bill occurred, and Governor Mike Braun signed a bill that would support a new stadium in Northwest Indiana. The agreement is similar to the one made to bring the Lucas Oil Stadium to Indianapolis. The Indiana plan is based on selling revenue bonds to support the building. And according to a comprehensive article on the topic by the Chicago Tribune, to date, the revenue bonds sold to build Lucas Oil Stadium have never required back-up general revenues from state taxpayers.

The Indiana deal provides $1 billion to support the construction of a stadium, along with infrastructure improvements.

The Chicago Tribune reports:

“We made it clear from the beginning that Indiana is open for business. I’m thrilled to sign Senate Bill 27 to create the framework to build a new world-class stadium in Northwest Indiana. Now let’s get this across the goal line,” Braun said in a statement on social media with a picture of him signing the bill.

State Sen. Rick Niemeyer, a Republican from Lowell, said it’s the third time in his life that there’s been talk about the Bears moving to northwest Indiana, but he said this time feels “serious.”

“I don’t think anybody that lives in northwest Indiana is going to have a problem with the way this is set up, the way it looks and the way that it’s going to be financed,” Niemeyer said.

State Sen. Dan Dernulc, a Republican from Highland, said while there has been chatter over the years about the Bears coming to the region, “there’s a different vibe now” about the Bears coming to northwest Indiana as Hammond is about a 20-minute drive from Soldier Field.

“It’s really exciting that we’re at this point. To bring them over onto our side is great. Illinois doesn’t have the money, we do because of good fiscal management of our funds,” Dernulc said.

Indiana is across the goal line. Illinois is on their own 20-yard line.

The same day Braun signed the Indiana incentive package, the Illinois House and Revenue and Finance Committee passed HB 910 – the “Mega Project” bill on a partisan 13-7 vote. Every Republican voted against the bill.

The bill includes the following provisions (this is not an exhaustive list);

  • Sales tax exemptions for 10 years on building materials
  • Ability to negotiate a massively lower property tax bill with local governments
  • Property tax freeze for up to 40 years or 45 years if the site requires additional preparation
  • Projects of varying size from $100 million to $500 million are eligible; lower amounts require a certain number of new employees be hired
  • Project Labor Agreements
  • 20% diversity spend based on race, with those races specifically enumerated

Nobody wants to see the Bears move to another state. The only reason this is even a consideration for the Bears organization is because of our terrible tax climate in Illinois. And there is no doubt they can build the stadium in Indiana in less time, with less hassle, and with less cost.

Our neighbors are picking off our businesses and residents. Iowa was even suggesting that they wanted to do a deal to get the Bears. The ultimate offense would be any suggestion of the Kenosha Bears. That’s certainly not happening.

Let’s make a Deal. But one that gets substantial tax reform for all.
