More Illinois Government Fraud
A former state of Illinois subcontractor, Andrea Wellington, 35, has been charged with orchestrating a fraud scheme to steal $4.7 MILLION in unemployment benefits at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, she was simply a customer service representative responsible for handling calls from people seeking unemployment benefits, but she clearly saw a bigger opportunity, and now she’s being charged with 21 counts of wire fraud.
Sure, she’s a dumb criminal, but who was overseeing this department at the time?
(Hint: Jeffrey D. Mays)
He and others should be held accountable too- all the way up to the Governor’s Office.
