• Illinois Governor Pritzker Signs Law to Permit Leftists to Continue Banning Books

The Illinois General Assembly—composed centrally of apparatchiks of the “LGBTQ+” cultural revolution—has made national news again, and again for ignoble reasons. Governor J.B. Pritzker signed the first law in the nation to ensure that leftists are able to continue banning books with carefree abandon.

  • Illinois Taxes Headed Up

“Next month, the state’s gas tax will increase by 6.2 cents to a total tax of 45.4 cents, the second increase since Jan. 1. The state’s tax on groceries will also go back into effect after Gov. J.B. Pritzker put a hold on the tax during last year’s election cycle.”

The expiration of the one-year sales tax holiday for groceries will generate $400 million more for the state to waste. The expiration of the holiday on back-to-school items will bring in another $30 million.

  • King J.B. Pritzker

Not only do Illinois Democrats have free reign to do whatever they want, (pass laws and budgets that no one else can weigh in on), but now they’re attempting to block any recourse to fight back against corrupt, dangerous policies after they have already been inflicted upon the people of Illinois.

  • Here We Go Again

The Governor proudly declared himself a “practical progressive” in this NY Times article. His Vogue-style glamor shot in the photo above is from that article. Can you imagine him posing for this? Good grief. He is an unserious person, craving attention and seeking admiration. This puff piece interview with the NY Times strokes an ego bigger than his real estate portfolio.

  • 1 Good Bill Both Sides Agree On

In a flurry of activity over four days this week, collectively, the House and Senate passed out of committee 1628 bills. No way, you’re thinking they could actually hear and pass that many bills. You would be right. 914 of the bills were “Shell Bills.” Shell bills are used to move legislation after the committee deadline by adding an amendment to that bill. Actual bills heard and passed were 714, by my count. That’s a lot of bills.

  • A Tale of Two Governors

On President’s Day last Monday, I had the privilege to be a part of Governor DeSantis’ visit to Elmhurst for his Back the Blue three-city tour. The event was a closed, by-invitation-only event with the focus on inviting law enforcement officers. The few of us authorized to share the invitation with others were specifically told not to share it over social media or in an email. It was inevitable that the invitation was going to get leaked. When it did, on Thursday before the event, the vitriol from members of the Democrat party, including Governor Pritzker, truly showed them as the bullies they are.

  • Who’s the Real Carnival Barker?

Gov. Pritzker has a bad habit of calling people who point out failures of public policy in Illinois “Carnival Barkers.” This would have to include every major newspaper, state, and national think tank, and the state’s own Committee on Government Forecasting and Accountability. But, what really is a Carnival Barker? It’s someone trying to sell you a chance at a game that is rigged or a sideshow that is deceptive. I think that term, Carnival Barker, more aptly fits Governor Pritzker, especially after the speech he gave on Wednesday.

  • Invited To Dinner And On The Menu

I will leave it to the political science majors, pundits, consultants, and talking heads to make all the prognostications about the Red Wave that wasn’t. They will have a laundry list of explanations, many of them valid. It is very important to get to understand the election outcome because the country – and specifically Illinois – could not be in worse shape culturally, economically, and from a freedom perspective.

  • We’re extreme end of progressive thought and behavior.

There are a couple of hot-button issues that just get my blood boiling to use an old cliché. One of them is the hysterical response to the COVID-19 virus. How people responded to COVID ended up being very revealing – and for that, we should be thankful.

  • Illinois has become a crazy state. And it is about to get worse unless you help stop it.

The Taliban are back in charge in Afghanistan with billions of dollars of our military equipment, wide-open borders allowing terrorists and criminals to come in unchecked, sanctuary states and cities protecting persons illegally, and rogue prosecutors not enforcing our laws – How safe are we?
